This worked like magic for me. It was in one area where my engineered flooring ends butted together. I used baby powder, spread some on and it immediately stopped the squeak. Different situations, different results. I’m happy, thanks for the tip!👍

Mine is parquet flooring, I don't think If you screws do the job and instead I have to screw each part to the subfloor. Do we have a better solution for me

Ideally it will last long-term, but depending on the severity of the squeak it may only be a temporary solution. If you try this remedy and the squeaks don't go away or they don't die down at all, we recommend looking into some other remedies that may fix your squeaks.

I absolutely despise hardwood floors. I can't wait to rip mine out . Way too much upkeep, not to mention the fking squeaking.

I totally agree! I had my tile ripped out and hardwood put in only to have gaps and have kitchen removed and replaced and now it is squeaky 1000 times more than when I had it replaced....never again!

Sorry it didn't work for you! It's a good trick, but unfortunately it doesn't work for every squeak situation. In regards to baking soda, we actually do not recommend that approach as it can damage the finish significantly.

Yes! What you're looking for is a tool that won't damage or scratch the flooring in the process. A paint brush should be soft enough to not damage the floor while maneuvering the powder into the seams.

And them when you work over the floor its a mess, the powder just came out! its awful. I tried also with another special powder and same awful results

Don't vacuum or mop the floor , unless you use a clear coat , tiny touch ups, to prevent the powder to be sucked in by the vacuum cleaner
