What I don’t understand is my nose gets dry and peels but it’s oily as heck at the same exact time. Wtf is wrong with my face
@thisisaname46616 жыл бұрын
It might be dehydrated. Drink lots of water, eat fruits and vegetables, cut down on salty foods, caffeine, alcohol and nicotine (if you smoke). Don't over exfoliate, avoid alcohol and harsh ingredients like sulfates in your skincare products, use a gel moisturizer during the day and a nighttime moisturizer with hyaluronic acid (or pure hyaluronic acid). Derma E is a really good brand and it's what I use. Also an organic oil like hemp seed oil can help. I know you might be like "Nooo I don't want to put oils on my face!" but it won't make you oily lol. Some people don't get that if you spend all day try to get rid of your natural oils you have to replenish your skin at night. Otherwise your skin is going to go crazy and produce more oils to compensate.

I have this exact problem :( It's too dry in winter, and too oily in summer. But I think cos I've been moving around in different countries a few times for the past 10 yrs, its really affected my skin. That really breaks out a lot :( and can't get used to the weather until a year has gone.
@Missmurder89057 жыл бұрын
Means your skin is Combination, which is the most common type. It means there are random patched etc or changes. You have to change it up to accommodate the climate change. So you might need to do a different routine in winter than you do in summer. Of course no matter what always drink lots of water (in dryer months up your intake), get adequate sleep, always wear SPF, and most of all don't drink alcohol or smoke! Literally those are the trades to flawless beautiful skin, I always tell People if you don't do anything else do that! =)

Laura!! Neutrogena makes an oil free suncreen, SPF 30, specifically for face!! The focus is not to make you breakout and I LOVE it. After it sinks into my skin I can't feel it's there at all. You don't have to accept a greasy day in order to protect your skin!!
@CareyXO7 жыл бұрын
I LOVE Laura Lee, but I thought I'd mention 3 things that work for me. 1) using oil on oily skin is great. Oil dissolves oil (the like dissolves like theory) and also it keeps your skin from thinking it needs to produce more. I have oily skin and do not use skin care labeled for oily skin. 2) Sunscreen is needed every day!!!! It's the everyday rays (that DO penetrate your car/home windows) that cause the dreaded aging of skin not to mention cancer. Even if you're not noticing the effects now, believe me when you're my age you will. 3) I do not use primers for oily skin. Things that prevent oil usually do the opposite because your skin thinks it needs to produce oil because you are robbing it of moisture. I saw several comments mentioning those primers make things worse and that's why. My favorite is the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores primer. Second would be the Hourglass Mineral Veil. I do realize products work different for people, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I spent many years in the cosmetic/skin care industry. Wayne Goss and Angie from Hot & Flashy have great sunscreen videos if anyone is interested.

Try different things and see if it works out. Philoderm makes face wash for oily and dry skin using PH and Earth Science Naturals uses the same idea. Time of the year, hormones, and climate make a difference. Moved away from a cold and dry environment (face was oily) to a cool humid climate (face was dry) then back after 5yrs to cold/dry to find makeup regime had to go back for oily skin again x_x Gah! (Artificial heat is bad as much as artificial cooling)

Aliya Charles some oils are good for your face if you use them right -_- do research Argan-oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, and grape seed oil are all great. Some are not even oils it’s hard to explain just research and welcome the worlds natural moisturizers that work
@giavonnaortiz40426 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with Rachael. I went to the dermatologist and told them the problems i had like urs. They said the face wash that dries out ur skin if u have oily skin will actually trigger something in ur skin that makes u produce even more oils since ur taking those oils out from the face wash. I use the cetaphil face wash for gentle skin and it doesn't dry out my skin but cleanses the excess oils in my face while leaving the good oils (: it works wonders. Also if u have acne and are using a cream that dries out ur acne then that also a factor to excess oil. Anyways. Just some tips from a girl with oily skin

Water and oil don't mix... a damp beauty blender won't make you oily. And oily skin can still be dehydrated. Hydrated skin produces less oil.

@oliviastewart7167 жыл бұрын

@Missmurder89057 жыл бұрын
Miranda therapy honestly most of them have combination. Meaning it's dry in some areas oily in others, though some might sway to one or the other side. Combination is also 50% of the population. It's the most common skin type. Oily is the best to have, it ages slower, since the oils create a barrier of protection and lubrication. It's a common misconception that just because your skin is oily you'll break out. Dry skin does too, as the dead cells clog the follicles creating infection because there is no drainage. You have 4 Main skin types Combination, Oily, Dry, and Normal(technically once you hit puberty normal skin doesn't actually exists, only in babies and kids, this means your pH is perfectly balanced at a 7.5 which is the pH of most pure water, its not too alkaline(or base) its not too acidic it's just right to to speak) typically if you're drier you're more alkaline, if youre oily you're more acidic. So combination means it varies. So of course through diet and proper skin care you can bring yourself up to or around a 6 or down to and 8 but no adult is ever a perfect 7. Nextly, you have skin subtypes, these are usually other factors that may or may not be correlated with your skin type. These are typically Acne prone (which is also a skin condition), Sensitive or Aged. These are usually caused by environment factors, that add complications into the mix of things, but are treatable and can even be solved through treatments and diet. Then lastly you have actual conditions some are treatable some aren't. Which can be caused by various factors, genetics, hormones, environmental, etc. These are things like your Rosacea, Psoriasis, Telangiectasia, Tinea, the list goes on. Whatever it is there's ways to treat and manage it! The best option is to see an Aesthetician and a dermatologist to find what works best for you, then it's soo much easier to find EXACTLY what you want/need.

I literally just started watching this video, I'm 45 seconds in, and I already love her. I was raised in the south as well, although I don't say oil like that, and I love her accent. She's super pretty too! (New subscriber here!!)

She's so over dramatic about everything and it kind of drives me crazy but on the same time she's really helpful

Laura if you read this, have you ever tried Tarte's Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation? Literally breaks apart on my skin as I apply it... so frustrating!
@madyisnthere13817 жыл бұрын
TabithaAdamMUA I have problems with that one too!! It never completely dries down on me for some reason

that happened to me too!!! it patched up on me almost like it was too dry, i tried using a hydrating primer under (hangover RX) then used a damp sponge and it made it alittle better

What if you have combination skin? I get dry patches after baking and oily skin after a couple of hours.

Lily Sanchez I use a foundation for normal to dry skin and then use translucent powder to set and setting spray and that works best for me because I have dry skin at first then get oily.

Lily Sanchez I find that if I look 'dry' after baking , using a setting spray helps it look less dry and hydrated . Just a tip :)

I use the Clinique foundation everyday and it starts out matte and I will get shiney relatively quickly. but I also don't do all these steps before and if you just powder it's manageable in my opinion and the affect foundation gives I love it!

Dear Laura LeeMy friends send me this link last night about oily skin and the shine I get during the day. So I tried your tips but with South African products, that did the same thing because some of those products you don't get in SA. I use the LA Concealers and I love them.I WNAT TO GIVE YOU AS BIG SHOUT OUT! its 15h56 on a Tuesday afternoon and I did not have to go to the bathroom to touch up my make up with a powder because my face is shining like a glazed chocolate cake. So THANK YOU THANK YOU first to my friend for sending me the video and then for YOU being so DAMM awesome!

Wait...do you have oily skin or not? I would rather get advice from someone who has oily skin all year round and has actually tested different techniques and products. Some of the products you used actually make me more oily. 😑

after watching her in jaclyn hills video, i was like she is not going to be one youtuber i like.. BUT boy was i wrong! lol i watched one video and was instantly hooked. never again will judge a youtuber by one video. i see why alot of people don't like her.. but if you have the same personality as her, you can get past her personality and see shes so fucking amazing and a beautiful youtuber who truely cares about her subscribers. ive watched every single video of hers in like a month and shes offically my new favorite youtuber😍😍😍 used to be inlove with jaclyn, but i just dont feel like she's into her youtube anymore and @lauralee definitely uploads more then enough to make up for it😊😊😊😍
