I LOVE Laura Lee, but I thought I'd mention 3 things that work for me. 1) using oil on oily skin is great. Oil dissolves oil (the like dissolves like theory) and also it keeps your skin from thinking it needs to produce more. I have oily skin and do not use skin care labeled for oily skin. 2) Sunscreen is needed every day!!!! It's the everyday rays (that DO penetrate your car/home windows) that cause the dreaded aging of skin not to mention cancer. Even if you're not noticing the effects now, believe me when you're my age you will. 3) I do not use primers for oily skin. Things that prevent oil usually do the opposite because your skin thinks it needs to produce oil because you are robbing it of moisture. I saw several comments mentioning those primers make things worse and that's why. My favorite is the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores primer. Second would be the Hourglass Mineral Veil. I do realize products work different for people, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I spent many years in the cosmetic/skin care industry. Wayne Goss and Angie from Hot & Flashy have great sunscreen videos if anyone is interested.

What I don’t understand is my nose gets dry and peels but it’s oily as heck at the same exact time. Wtf is wrong with my face
@thisisaname46616 жыл бұрын
It might be dehydrated. Drink lots of water, eat fruits and vegetables, cut down on salty foods, caffeine, alcohol and nicotine (if you smoke). Don't over exfoliate, avoid alcohol and harsh ingredients like sulfates in your skincare products, use a gel moisturizer during the day and a nighttime moisturizer with hyaluronic acid (or pure hyaluronic acid). Derma E is a really good brand and it's what I use. Also an organic oil like hemp seed oil can help. I know you might be like "Nooo I don't want to put oils on my face!" but it won't make you oily lol. Some people don't get that if you spend all day try to get rid of your natural oils you have to replenish your skin at night. Otherwise your skin is going to go crazy and produce more oils to compensate.

@Missmurder89057 жыл бұрын
Means your skin is Combination, which is the most common type. It means there are random patched etc or changes. You have to change it up to accommodate the climate change. So you might need to do a different routine in winter than you do in summer. Of course no matter what always drink lots of water (in dryer months up your intake), get adequate sleep, always wear SPF, and most of all don't drink alcohol or smoke! Literally those are the trades to flawless beautiful skin, I always tell People if you don't do anything else do that! =)

Water and oil don't mix... a damp beauty blender won't make you oily. And oily skin can still be dehydrated. Hydrated skin produces less oil.
@andreeapotra8 жыл бұрын
Amanda Howard Exactly! If your skin is oily and you don't use a moisturizer/ hydrate it, it'll only make it worse! Your body will compensate for the lack of hydration by producing even MORE oil!

I love Clinique's gel moisturizer, Dramatically Different. I HATED the lotion version of it, but the gel is really good stuff. Sinks in quick, feels hydrating, some days I don't even use primer, because it's a bit primer like, but not slick and greasy. I get the 4.2 ounce bottle, and it lasts forever and is only $26. I think my last bottle lasted close to a year.

Try different things and see if it works out. Philoderm makes face wash for oily and dry skin using PH and Earth Science Naturals uses the same idea. Time of the year, hormones, and climate make a difference. Moved away from a cold and dry environment (face was oily) to a cool humid climate (face was dry) then back after 5yrs to cold/dry to find makeup regime had to go back for oily skin again x_x Gah! (Artificial heat is bad as much as artificial cooling)

Aliya Charles some oils are good for your face if you use them right -_- do research Argan-oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, and grape seed oil are all great. Some are not even oils it’s hard to explain just research and welcome the worlds natural moisturizers that work
@giavonnaortiz40427 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with Rachael. I went to the dermatologist and told them the problems i had like urs. They said the face wash that dries out ur skin if u have oily skin will actually trigger something in ur skin that makes u produce even more oils since ur taking those oils out from the face wash. I use the cetaphil face wash for gentle skin and it doesn't dry out my skin but cleanses the excess oils in my face while leaving the good oils (: it works wonders. Also if u have acne and are using a cream that dries out ur acne then that also a factor to excess oil. Anyways. Just some tips from a girl with oily skin

mirandatherapy lol I feel like every youtuber has oily skin😂
@Missmurder89057 жыл бұрын
Miranda therapy honestly most of them have combination. Meaning it's dry in some areas oily in others, though some might sway to one or the other side. Combination is also 50% of the population. It's the most common skin type. Oily is the best to have, it ages slower, since the oils create a barrier of protection and lubrication. It's a common misconception that just because your skin is oily you'll break out. Dry skin does too, as the dead cells clog the follicles creating infection because there is no drainage. You have 4 Main skin types Combination, Oily, Dry, and Normal(technically once you hit puberty normal skin doesn't actually exists, only in babies and kids, this means your pH is perfectly balanced at a 7.5 which is the pH of most pure water, its not too alkaline(or base) its not too acidic it's just right to to speak) typically if you're drier you're more alkaline, if youre oily you're more acidic. So combination means it varies. So of course through diet and proper skin care you can bring yourself up to or around a 6 or down to and 8 but no adult is ever a perfect 7. Nextly, you have skin subtypes, these are usually other factors that may or may not be correlated with your skin type. These are typically Acne prone (which is also a skin condition), Sensitive or Aged. These are usually caused by environment factors, that add complications into the mix of things, but are treatable and can even be solved through treatments and diet. Then lastly you have actual conditions some are treatable some aren't. Which can be caused by various factors, genetics, hormones, environmental, etc. These are things like your Rosacea, Psoriasis, Telangiectasia, Tinea, the list goes on. Whatever it is there's ways to treat and manage it! The best option is to see an Aesthetician and a dermatologist to find what works best for you, then it's soo much easier to find EXACTLY what you want/need.

I have the Fit Me and I don't like it... I actually found that it looks better once the oil starts coming through a little bit, after about 4-5 hours of wear.

skin care is the first thing to combating oily skin! no makeup product will help. cleanse regularly, exfoliate regularly (to unclog pores, which will stop trapping all the oil in there that leads to those bumps), and use a great moisturizer. heck even use oil to moisturize!

Hello .. Q. Where did you get your palm brush and how much was it?? ^_^
@burningbothwicks7 жыл бұрын
Ofe Lopez The Artis palm brush she has generally retails at £66, don't know what that transfers to in dollars. Some dupes, unbranded items, do turn out equal results if you can find a trusted and highly recommended one. Just search Artis Palm Brush and different sites and prices will direct you to the best offer
