I saw an interview once with a lady who did authentication and appraisal for Hermès second hand bags. She said never leave the bag in the box, because the glue of the box might damage the leather. Some boxes really smell really bad even when they are new, so, this is something I always think of. Everyone stresses out about stretching out the leather of the Hermès bags. Mine are Evelyne, in clemence leather, it’s soft and maybe it‘s more likely to stretch. The first one I bought 3-4 years ago and i never handled it with special care. It never lost its shape, even when I put more stuff or larger objects in it and the shape of the bag looked funky. No stretched out leather, no scratches, edges are ruined... nothing. It’s like new. I wiped it 2-3 times with a bit wet towels, to take off dust, and nothing happened. So, this has been my experience, but maybe Birkin and Kelly are different, especially with thinner leather. Fact is leather is a natural material, it needs to breathe and it doesn’t love too dry weather, because it might crack, this is what my SA told me.

Thank you for sharing, my dear! Yea I don't think leaving in the box for very long time is a good idea even though I never heard the glue of the box might damage the leather. It does sound your Evelyne is super sturdy, no wonder you love it so much!!! It went through so much and still in such great condition. You can see really old and used Birkin and Retourne Kelly are definitely changing shape especially in slouchy leather like clemence leather! Leather def needs to breath and get some air:) Have a great night:)

I’ve used the rain coat before it helps for emergencies when you’re caught in sudden rain or drizzle outdoors :) Thank you for the lotion recommendation! I think if it’s good for delicate white leather it’s really good! Will Hermes spa refuse to work on a bag (spa, repair, replacement of hardware etc) that has been cleaned or conditioned before ourselves? I believe there would always be situations where we would inadvertently get our bags dirty, or not many people would want to wait 6-9mths to send their bags to H spa just to condition a bag where the leather is a bit dry. And I heard that H spa would not clean/spa the interior of our bags? That is ridiculous to me.. so we can clean/condition the interior of our bags if it’s dirty but we can’t touch the exterior.

great video and useful. good news I decided to get a new hermes SA yesterday after the original still has not been in touch and I was able to get every item I wanted that I asked the original SA for except for one item I had not previously requested. One of the best Birkin safety tips I’ve gotten was to get a Longchamp Le Pliage bag and keep it folded in your Birkin. If you need rain protection or find yourself in an area where you don’t want to show off your birkin, you just pop the birkin in the le pliage bag

Great video babe! I don’t think the rain coat is useless I personally own two for my Chanel bags, I rather damage or wet a handle if that’s the case, than the entire bag! Handle or handles are easy to wipe down or clean than the whole bag ;)

Because the fact the rain coat has an opening on around the entire handle area, the rain also gets inside of the bag through the handle, hence the entire bag will get wet, unless the handle doesn't get wet at all. @@SasaZoe yes yes lol I understood is the same as the ones I bought for my Chanel bags. In my experience, both times I didn’t have to walk much to get to my car and it was minimal how wet my handbags got. I also try to somewhat cover my bags a little with my body 😉 and no I try not to take them out when raining but when I do, if I get out of my house when it’s raining, they don’t get wet bc my car is inside the garage, it is more when I get out of the place coming back home;)

There’s is a fair risk that your check in luggage will get lost & also TSA opens your luggage for spot checks. Personally I like putting my luxury bag inside a bigger backpack/carry on :)

I don't use any bag organizer for my K25 as it's sellier style and really structured already (maintain its own shape well) and I don't have any problem finding things inside, hehe. My Kelly 25 is in black and silver hardware. I would have preferred it in gold hardware, but how could I say no to Kelly 25 ? with the rain jacket, you should only use it under an umbrella. So, it's not useless, but it doesn't waterproof the bag.

Hmm i am really not so careful with my bags. All my Chanel Dior LV dust bags are packed away in their boxes in storage. I just leave the bags on my shelf and don't even inspect or wipe down after every use 🙈 so embarrassing haha

@@SasaZoe For my own standard i think they are holding up pretty well so far 😆 i put my Chanel flaps on the sides so they don't get sagging due to gravity on the sides and front. Are you ever afraid of the ink on the plastic air bubbles leaving a transfer on the inside of your bag?

humm I never had any issue with the air bubbles. O didn't even think about it until you mentioned it now.All my hermes bags purchase from the Hermes boutique all came with these air bubbles. I assume they should be fine? Otherwise Hermes will not ship their bags with the air bubbles right? :P Have you ever experienced anything like that before? You can also use white tee or any soft white towel as well.
