Thanks for showing how to store in mylar. I want to vacuum seal in glass jars. Have you done that?

@@reasonablyprepared I've been reading a lot about vacuum sealing dried goods in mason jars. Looks easy and good especially if you are doing stock rotation.

@@TheChinaLady you are not the first to bring this up. Gunna do some research on it. I have never done that before. However, I was in a dollar general very recently and they had shelves full of mason jars if you need to find some:-)

Great vid as always. It’s my understanding (correct me if I’m wrong) that mylar bags are for keeping out light. So, if the bucket will block light: why couldn’t you just vac seal and store in buckets? Especially with vac bags being cheaper than mylar. Mainly because I’m looking at storing flour… Also, the doing a more so meal plan per bucket is a great idea 👍

Thanks again!!! So the mylar should keep out light, air and moisture. It’s my understanding they are a non permeable material. So the buckets are more for rodents and ease of stacking. The vac seal bags are not as durable as the mylar in my experience and better suited for freezer and mid term storage. But if your bucket is hardy enough you could probably get away with it.
