How To Store Onions Long Term After Harvest

Appreciate this information. I live in Wales and finding a DRY storage area is a challenge! Now I have options..providing I have electricity 🤔

I had a great onion harvest this year. We had timely rain and I did water the barrels that had the onions in them. Next year I will plant twice as many. I'll use them and eat them fresh for a while. I don't have a good place to store over winter either. My preferred way to preserve them is freezing. I dice them and some I cut in strips for when I want to make fried onions. It really makes it easy to fix a meal when some of the prep work is already done. Homestead fast food!

I have the same dehydrator and it works great and is inexpensive. Great video💥

While our onions started out promising, the drought really hit them hard and we got very few salvageable onions. Hopefully it will be better next year. This year has been tough on the garden.

I hope next year is better too! I’m finally getting tons of peppers and tomatoes, hoping they ripen before the frost! 🤞🏻
