Does this apply to red oxide primer as well?

I like the idea storing in a box. A box can bring some warmth, and insulation.

I find that the newer "cans" of paint made of plastic rather than metal don't seal as well. What other type of container can they be moved to?

I used bad paint ( smell, probably mold). How do I fix this? Just repaint? Apply some cleaning agent and then repaint? And repaint with what?

I have a can of Sherwin Williams latex paint. It is nearly full and had about an inch of water on top. I mixed it until it was smooth then painted a one foot section on the wall. It looks good but I don't like the color as it is too dark. I bought a new can of Behr paint but it is way to light. I want to put some of the darker into the light color to bring it up to what I want. The SW paint is from 2013 but appears to be fine. Would I dare use it where it is so old because I don't want it to end up sticky on the wall? Thanks for the video.

Maybe try mixing a small sample to see?

@@thepaintpeople Thanks. I decided to take a chance and it turned out great. The color is just right and the walls look and feel good. Thanks for getting back with me.

Do you think that storing them in a Ball jar or a new black plastic paint storage container would work better?
@skullsarecute4 жыл бұрын
I’ve had those cheap jar lids rust on me. Jar is fine but lids aren’t what they used to be! Unknown on plastic.

The gallon it came with will work best

I have stored many paints over the years in spaghetti jars and caning jars.. Some with cello wrap on the metal lids and now you can buy plastic lids for the canning jars. This works amazingly! Love I can see the colour through the jar and way better seals and less air than the after market paint storage plastics. I have been painting for 25 years so this is my experience

Love that idea!

The Paint People I have learned so much about colour from you this month. I got some super cheap Benjamin Moore paint and need to figure out where it will work as I didn't get to pick the colours. Soooo appreciative of your time and knowledge! I am a 60 yr old mom that has painted everyone's home and finally doing my own again. You have help this frugal mom use these paints and be happy with what I did 🤗💚💚💚💚

We stored left over paint in our basement and it's was from 2016. Opened it up and started stirring and there were thick thick chunks stuck on the bottom.. Is it still good paint?
@Harrell4233 жыл бұрын
Should be.. just stir with a drill for serval min

Does a rusted can lip mean it’s unusable? Flakes of rust invariably fall in. (Why don’t all brands use plastic cans these days?!)

Why don't you answer people's questions if you're teaching people about paint? I know the comments help YT channels but if you're the paint expert - help people with their questions - I think all come here to learn.

👉 How about storing polyurethane?
@markvietti2 жыл бұрын
how about...... 1. moving paint to smaller can to eliminate extra space...2. shaking can periodically.. 3. adding an inert gas to remove oxygen.. 4. put in air proof container....5. adding a anti-bacteria additive.. instead this long video tells us that temperature is what makes it go bad.. I think everyone already knew this. great job on the video editing though...
