Would classic gray look darker in satin vs eggshell?

Why y’all gray haters even clicking on videos with Gray on the title? 🤷🏻♀️

I love white walls too - it’s relaxing and clean to me .. I also like shades of pink like a soft light white pink.

Pink damask....Benjamin Moore you would love...I put it in my ultra sunny kitchen and I love it.

I had color in different rooms ....until we built a home in which the entire first floor is open concept. The bad side of that is you pretty much need to use the same color on all of it. Ours is not stark white but this is one likely reason white(ish) colors have thrived for so long.

Love color, even if muted. White is too sterile and uninspiring to me.

I just use this color, and I love it. It's light gray. A little bit of pear undertones. It goes well with the black couch I have. I use satin sheen. For door and window trim.. I use extra white semi glasses.

I find white to be harsh. No warmth, sterile. I'm a gentle boho-type.

Dear Jesus, life has gotten so damn dull. Get rid of white walls, grey walls, beige walls and, shoot me now, greige walls. There's no joy anymore. Our homes are neutral, our cars are neutral, our wardrobes are neutral. Let's outlaw freaking neutral. I'm 72. My first car was turquoise. My second car was yellow. I've never had a room in any house that I've owned that was painted a neutral color. I swear designers push this whole "calming neutral" idea because they don't have any idea what to do with color. Live a little. It's fun. It's just color.

Love Sherwin Williams Pure White because it has no weird undertones. What SW color would be a bit darker version of Pure White?

Farrow and Ball calls this a "blue-gray" but it's not. it is definitely a green-gray. Don't see blue with this paint in any light. Maybe light in the UK is different?

Recently bought a house with lots of colours (muted browns, greys, blues) on the walls. Can't stand it. Feels claustrophobic. Can't wait to paint the whole house off white (simply white, pale oak, balboa mist, natural cream). IMO colour is for cushions, rugs and accessories.

I have a very 90s colored house and it’s time to paint it Swiss coffee or something! The vibrant colors were fun before we added three kids and all of life’s chaos and now it just makes me anxious and adds to the chaos! I want calm and a canvas that the other things like my rugs and fi future and art can sit against! Color is fun in bathrooms and bedrooms but for my huge open plan space I just want simplicity! And calm!

The problem is with open spaces. All my "closed rooms" will feature bold colors. So, *ivory* will be.

CL yellowed in our home! I loved it bc i loved the bright white. I had them professionally painted. Maybe it was bc they didn't do something correctly?

Love it! I am obsessed with the SW designer collection. Funny thing is, we brought home Woodbridge just last night for our guest bath before I had a chance to see this! Can’t wait to see how the Juniper coloured bath towels I already have look with it. Thanks! I never fully embraced the grey trend-too cold. I love how these pallet colors work with deep grays. I used softer tan and universal khaki to work in browner green gold tones with the grays I do have. Currently trying to decide between BM cedar key and SW bungalow beige for main living area north and east facing, not a lot of sun, with one vaulted wall . It is adjacent to kitchen with softer tan walls and some neutral tan/ gray/black/ granite with rust flecks and charcoal backsplash. I think I want to embrace the muted rusty red brown accents. Tricky part is dark warm grey sofa and the carpet is light neutral beige but leans a pinky beige which really limits me- ugh. I don’t want the room to look “white” -like you I like color!

So your trim undertone should COMPLIMENT (be opposition) on the wheel? If you have blue and gray undertones walls, the trim would be…

So what color would you choose for the complimentary orange and teal example? I heard Nick say not a yellow undertone. Is that because blue/teal was the main color.

What if I did Sulking Room Pink on the headboard wall and Mizzle (gray green) on the other 3 walls? I was given a Gilchrist of Boston vintage maple nightstand, dresser, and tallboy dresser. I don’t know if the Sulking Room Pink is too dark against this brown wood furniture. Opinions welcome.

You’re amazing! I need your help. If I purchase a color consult, will it be with you? I have a 1761 New England Colonial with with the most amazing original wood floors. I also have a IMO gorgeous 1600 saltbox workshop and horse barn. I want to coordinate the entire project in the scope of color. I’m confused by the online order, sorry for the long comment but let me know how I can pay you and get on your calendar. Cheers

That monochromatic look is like an overdose of boredom. This guy is trying to justify being lazy, and that’s exactly what the outcome looks like. Blah, lazy, nothingness. Don’t let him convince you. Do better. Be better.

I love taupe! I used to do lighting design in theater and art installations. Taupe is one of those complex neutrals that allow the colorful work be more firmly in the foreground without upstaging the "star of the show", but can still strongly shift the atmosphere with lighting changes.
