Hi James, can you do a video about paint pallets to compliment various brick colors? Not painting the brick, but painting all the trim and wood elements. My brick is very orange and I’m having such a hard time choosing three colors for the Victorian/colonial looking porch and trim etc.

Can you suggest a color for a walk in closet? Something in the beige or light taupe family?

What software are you using to make these beautiful mockups? The color viewer in the SW website is so hard to use and never looks as good as your mockups.

I have a question. We are moving into a new house the wall and trim are dark and it has stained shutters. I would like to lighten it up. What colors would you suggest for walls, trim, bookcases and doors?

I have 3 large black bookcases(IKEA) in a small East facing room. Would this color be washed out due to the black cabinets or could they hold their own?

I did our bathroom in Down Pipe with pretty standard white subway tiles and it's wonderful. They really balance each other and plants (greens) or wood just POPS.

I'd love to know what color you and your wife chose. Perfect timing for me on this topic. We've lived with builder white in our bathroom for 25 years, yes, 25. I never wanted the job of painting -- lots of cutting in! I've been living with several Samplize 9x12 swatches and just added one more. My issue is that I want to use a color I love that has depth. The problem is that it doesn't really enhance the main tile or secondary tile, nor does it enhance the maple cabinetry or warm countertop, which I'd love to replace. But I want it painted before I get any older! It's very hard to choose a color. The color I want is SW Essential Gray, which is in our family room and bedroom. I love it because it has depth and gives me a calming feeling. So hard to commit!

Will Advance stick to an oil based alkyd, without priming, if I rough the surface up really well?

Tip: I painted the bathroom SW Honeydew, because I love my shower curtain with embroidery all over in white. It's light, airy and made makeup impossible in the bathroom! So, if you need to use the bathroom as your vanity--stick to neutrals!

I’m glad I’m not the one having to choose which one to use. I can’t make up my mind which I like better. I’m a tightwad so I would probably end up using the paint that I already had on hand. 😂

I fell in love with Sherwin Williams Limewash, which was 3x our budget. Turns out BM Pale Oak is verrrry close and looks fantastic color matched in SW Super Paint on our ranch style house, with Tricorn Black trim. I looked at String of Pearls, but we live in Santa Barbara CA and our house is east-west facing, and SOP flashed a bit too pink for my taste.

Which one will work better with Dark chocolate furniture. Help. Thanks.

Brandon Beige 977 is ABSOLUTELY my favorite Benjamin Moore color. I LOVE how when the sun hits it there is a slight green shade there. It is very slight and it is so warm and comforting. I have used this color in hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms... it's just wonderful.

I like the Winter Wheat for what I need.

I live in a basement bedroom no natural light. The room in size is a queen mattress and a half wide and two queen mattresses long. I have orangey oak flooring, same for my vanity and cabinet in the room. I'm considering painting my walls, trim and ceiling with swiss coffee and maybe do an accent wall at the head of my bed (wall facing the doorway) in a soft warm leaning sage green. Opinions? Only lighting is a flush mounted ceiling light, soft white led.

Weekend getaway is lovely

I'm so struggling with this color, Wenge. It's coming through as a lot of purple/mahogany with red. I'm scared! This color is a consideration for my kitchen island (speckled granite black, gray, beige, rose, off white) with light (Sugar Cookie) cabinets - I have large windows that open up to a lot of greenery. Help!
