You probably need to leave it in longer. I have corse thick hair that doesn't take chemicals easily. I have to leave this in hair hair for 45-60 minutes for it to take. You'll know by doing a strand test as you go. You take a very small section of hair and make a knot in it. If the knot easily slips apart on its own, leave leave the chemicals in for longer. Once the knot stays in place on its own, you know it's time to rinse your hair.
