Cheers! One of the best Snapper fights ever filmed! Can't believe that I'm seeing this now for the FIRST time. Props to you -I could feel that buzz right with you. Nothing like that feeling of bringing a monster fish to the boat on less than desired size tackle. @0 Lb mono baby. Nicely done mate!

from a uni knot to a big fish step by step :) enjoyed watching you guys ... regards from Morocco :)
@ldagain5 жыл бұрын
Tying the bottom hook on first, then tying the snell, allows super accurate spacing. And if you want to significantly increase the strength of a Uni knot - pass the line through the eye of the hook twice before tying the knot and dont forget the spit before tightening

Well done! Came across your video and was curious about the "straylining" title as I have not heard of that name here in the USA. Well presented instructional video, and wow what a snapper. You have my respect letting her go. We call that CPR here - Catch, Photo, Release.

Brilliant. If you're recreationally fishing to catch over here in New Zealand, it's customary for most to let the first fish go to Tangaroa (the God of the Sea and progenitor of Fish; since maori creation traditions). Then go for sizable catches, not too small or too large for most fish to help keep local fisheries sustainable. It's well worth a trip here just to catch fish and collect shellfish, our seafood is some of the best in the world!

Hey Matt. HI from Christchurch. I think you should do some more teaching sessions! You seem to catch big fish when doing them. Remember the jigging session with a big Kingie or the PR knot and instant Trevally? I certainly appreciate your teaching sessions very much. I rewatch and rewatch them! Thanks for the great content!

Looks great. Re the snell, I find it a bit easier to tie the end hook first then the other hook as it helps to get the required distance correct. Of course that means the leader must be tied to a swivel or afterwards to the braid or mono main line afterwards as the long end needs to be free to pull through.

Agreed. Great video though :)

Add a small bead above the lumo tube abd jam a toothpick in it and snap it off either side. This bead can be jammed down to stop the lumo tube sliding up keeping your bait positioned how you want it for longer
