Nice Video as always! Could you maybe do a VID of a similar frame using hand-tools. I have a good quality japanese saw & the mitre block but i don´t always get ´Great Corners! Cheers From Madrid

Heya Danwrightitis - Interesting idea. The only real difference between how I built this one and using hand tools is you'll need to be very precise with your mitre block and hand saw. If you are slow and careful with your cuts, the process is otherwise identical. Good luck!

Before watching this I viewed your take on the flat panel speakers from Tech Ingredients. And when you mentioned here how a stretched out and taut canvas sounds like a drum, I taught,"How would a canvas sound with a Dayton exciter?"🤓 Maybe a video out of this idea?🤔

Interesting idea, but I think it would sound really faint/tinny. I did try the exciter on a variety of objects around my shop before building the speakers featured in that video, and the only stuff that produced anything close to an acceptable sound needed to be very stiff, thick, and have a pretty large surface area. Something as flexible as these canvases would likely not work well at all. Still, would be an interesting idea to try.... You've got the gears turning. Thanks for watching!

@@AmplifyDIY referencing your newest videos with the foam panels wrapped in fabric, I bet canvas would act very similar to the thin fabric covering. Possibly build the same frame but without any bracing and simply put an XPS sheet to completely fill the inside portion of the frame, with some adhesive to securely stick to the back of the canvas so the canvas is acting as the speaker and the foam as the rigid backplate. Then attach the exciter to the back of the xps and you have an art piece that can play music! I'd love to have a hall where album covers are blown up on a 2x2 square and hung up or suspended, and have them play that album upon touching them.
