Thanks for sharing. Haven’t thought of using a zip tie to open the mouth. That will make it a lot easier then opening the mouth like we do currently. I will try this out tonight when I strip our female of her eggs.

I would think the fish would resist more. Interesting-you made that look so easy 🙂

I was lucky to have a good success on camera lol slow and gentle and I have found they don’t struggle.

Very usefull video. We stripped our aulonocara cichlid, we waited 3 days before stripping. These eggs are tumbling and growing good. Our second aulonocara had her eggs for 2 days and then she swallowed them. How long do you wait before stripping the momma fish? Tnx

Trent do they predate on their fry if left for them to hatch them naturally. Very interesting .
@WeldonTanks4 жыл бұрын
They do not. If you let them hatch naturally provide some cover for the fry but the parents will tend to them

When you get them on a cycle you can pull eggs almost weekly

@@WeldonTanks i need to start doing that to my yellow labs. I’ll have to give it a try.

Awesome video Trent just stripped my first female and it worked thank you :) one question how long til they start breeding again ? Is there like a time they go through
@WeldonTanks3 жыл бұрын
I have had females holding again within a week and other times it takes a few weeks. If you let them hold naturally the fish would go through the gestation period of a week or two before the female would release them naturally.

When you strip the female and she releases the eggs, how do you know which eggs aren’t fertilized and should be taken out? Thanks.
@WeldonTanks3 жыл бұрын
Eggs that have a yellow color to them are fertile. Eggs that are white are not fertile.

Hello , i have synodontis lucipinnis and they have been breeding in my main tank but i had no luck in finding any eggs how can i try to find the eggs from my main tank? Without buying extra tanks. I would like to try to breed every fish but i somehow wasnt successful to understand the process of how to catch the eggs and how to find em xd
@WeldonTanksАй бұрын
@@leilahamama6268 that fish has a specific way of laying eggs. I would check out wild fish tanks channel. He has a good break down of how to breed that fish. The method I showed works best with fish that are mouth brooder breeders

Great tutorial! Is it necessary to treat the water with the tumbler in it with anything special?
@WeldonTanks3 жыл бұрын
While it is not necessary I have found that by using methalyne blue I get a higher hatch rate as it helps with fungus.
