Works on metal surfaces, NOT advisable on plastic, ABS, fiberglass surfaces.

I'm unsure what you mean by "dealing with louvers" If you are talking about stripping them, I'd just have these media blasted as most of the time these are of very thin metal If you are talking about avoiding them when stripping another panel, I'd use duct tape to protect

Great video what is the lowest grit you can use when stripping with a grider.

I'm not for sure if you mean 'lowest number' or finest grit. If lower number, I would go lower (courser) than 40 grit. If you do the sand marks will be pretty deep. If you mean finest grit, I would say 180, but if you have more than one paint job, this will take quite a bit of time. I found the start 40, finish with 80, then DA 80 before priming works great~!

What are your stripping tips for aluminum panels...say...on a HMWWV?

Good question. I believe on a HMWWV there are a lot of rivets. If so, you may want to just have it media blasted. You have to be VERY CAREFUL with what media you use. You don't want to warp the panels.

Maybe a silly question but are you moving all around to keep any one spot from getting to hot?

Good question. Yes, you want to keep moving around. Especially on the newer cars and trucks because the metal is so thin. You can definitely warp a panel if you aren't careful

Hey man I think I accidentally messed up with the truck I used 40 grid sand paper with a truck and I’m not sure what to do now ,

40 grit is fine, BUT you don't need to take it all the way to the metal. You get MOST of the paint off with the 40, then switch to 80. If you did removed ALL the paint to metal with 40, go ahead and go over it with 80 real good. Get rid of those 40 grit scratches, then go over with 80 grit DA REAL GOOD. You want to eliminate ALL of the 40 grit 8" scratches. Then use High build primer (I like the High Tek primer)

As long as you get it primed ASAP and it's not raining, you don't touch the metal, or you don't drip sweat on it, it will be fine.
