How to Strip your Warhammer Miniatures!

Nachdem ich Paintremover, Nitro und Isopropanol mehr oder weniger erfolgreich nutzen konnte, bin ich durch einen Tip auf "Biostrip" gekommen. Damit war kein langwieriges schrubben oder ähnlicher mechanischer Aufwand nötig. Figur eingelegt und nach einiger Zeit (öfter mal probiert) mit Wasser und einem gröberen Pinsel abgewaschen. Damit gingen auch 30 Jahre alte Enamel und Tamiyafarben tadellos runter.

Von Biostrip habe ich noch nie etwas gehört, benutzt du es für Metall und Kunststofffiguren gleichermaßen? Klingt schon sehr vielversprechend wenn sogar Tamiya sich dadurch verabschiedet ^^ Danke für den Tipp!

@@MiniQuest64 Habe es bisher nur für alte 1:35 Figuren aus Kunststoff verwendet. Iso und Nitro hat da nicht wirklich funktioniert. Auch der Paint Remover von Revell hat da kein besseres Ergebnis gebracht. Vielleicht funktionieren die bei Acrylfarben ausreichend. Da aber das Plastik nicht beschädigt wurde kann ich mir nicht vorstellen dass Metall da problematischer sein sollte.

Thanks for comparing these methods Sergei. Many other channels do this, but they compare methods, not necessarily the effects on different mediums! I have never stripped a mini, likely due to the difference in our hobbies ;) I like to keep my old ones (as you suggested) to show my progression as a mini painter... it's not that exciting! :) hahah

Thanks Mike, as always! This is something I have to do pretty often (because I buy pre-owned oop models a lot :D) so I thought I could share my process and all the materials I encounter. From an editing perspective it was different then a painting tutorial and I had a lot of fun editing.

Hey, thanks for the video. Did you happen to try white spirits for stripping? I'm wondering if it will work against acrylic paint. I've got a bottle of that thing recently, to degrease my bicycle chain really, but I thought maybe I could kill two hypothetical birds with one stone. Unfortunately don't have any minis to test atm^^

@Nick Kowalski thanks for watching :) What kind of white spirit are we talking about? Maybe I have something similar at home, then I could make a quick test for you. Got plenty of minis!

@@MiniQuest64 don't think you'll find the same one in Germany - I'm living outside of the EU zone atm. The bottle doesn't say much too, but I dug around and I think Hydrosol A170/A200 would be the closest option.

@Nick Kowalski you were absolutey right, I've never heard of something like that, nor could I find something similiar! I think "working on minis"depends on the percentage of alcohol in it!
