Thanks for the tip I used a Dixie chopper for doing stripes but now I used a Toro for doing it I love the Toro better I don't used striper kits.

I have a Toro Timemaster. I purchased the Toro Lawn Stripe kit that’s specifically made for that mower. However, I found that the mower really lays some nice stripes without the add on kit...in my opinion.

Good morning, that is what we found out over the years. Striping kits do help give you a quicker stripe look, but if you are on a budget you can create the same look in just a couple of mows. Go to our Facebook or Instagram and post some of your stripes.

Alot of it has to do with deck setup, blade being used, and mower.... I would have liked you to talk about how you set your mowers up.

Actually none of that really matters. The mower we used is a stock Hustler Trimstar with regular blades on it. Actually the deck isnt really pitched much. A lot of people think you need special mower to stripe a lawn. That is what this video is all about. It is more in technique then equipment.

Checkmate stripe kit is a great addition to a mower. Most striping kits don't seem to last a long time when you mow the amount of lawns we do. Your lawn is looking great though!

Thanks for the video.... I cut my own grass and prefer some sort of design. I mostly do Square, lines, and diagonal lines....I just have a reg. Mower nothing fancy. That just adjust the front and back tires. Ive bn wanting to do the checker board but it's intimidating...... Do I see and hear correctly that you cut ur line 2wks apart(make all line back and forth but leaving spaced areas uncut..then cut opposite of wut was done in the other direction)

No we always cut the whole lawn every week. We just cut the same direction for 2 weeks straight. We then alternate directions for 2 more weeks.

Yeah, sometimes some mowers need a little boost. Once you "train" the grass it wont take long to get those deep stripes in the lawn.

Are you alternating directions? If you mow towards your house on the first stripe then turn around and mow away from the house it will give you the dark and light stripes. The sun has to be in the right angle also to notice it better.

That is true but 90% of most grass cant stripe with proper techniques. We have even striped weeds!!

This video was a little bit silly of course you can make strikes with a lawn mower that heavy, you would never buy aftermarket striper for this type of mower it's plenty heavy, most people did by stripers have push mowers that need the weight

Thanks for your comment. Actually the "heavy" part of the mower is only the wheels. We are trying to show people that the way you mow the lawn can acutually stripe the lawn without a kit. The deck is what is actually striping the lawn not the weight of the mower. Thanks for watching

@@PicturePerfectLawnMaintenance The problem with the volume was that when someone was speaking, the recording level was appropriate. But when the music came on, it was LOUD. At about 3:20 or so, it was muted, followed by it blaring again. At the end of the video, the volume level of the voices was appropriate again. It wasn't a matter of just turning down the volume it was the alternating between appropriate, then changing to BLARING.
