Took the GRE too - my #1 tip would be to take a practice test immediately when you decide to take the GRE. No review, or drills needed. This will give you a good baseline of what the test feels like and where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Drill your weaknesses until you're comfortable with them, then rinse and repeat. Good luck, and go for it!!

I’m a majoring in psychology so here’s a few tips: 1) Don’t study in the same place, change it up. Study at a coffee shop one day, or at home in your room another. This lets your brain know that the information it’s gathering is important to remember as it continues to show up in different environments. 2) If you set a day to take a practice test (like she recommend in her video) try and match the environment you’ll be testing in as close as possible. That way when you sit down to take the actual test, your brain will recognize the type of environment and will make it easier to recall information. 3) If you have test anxiety, then definitely set a date aside to do a practice test and do number 2. This should hopefully help you face your anxiety so on the actual day you’re a bit more relaxed. 4) Again with testing anxiety: avoid coffee at all costs. Caffeine can raise your anxiety which will effect the way you perform on a test. That’s all I got for now. Good luck everyone!

Hi! :) thanks for all the great tips. Could you perhaps make a similar video of how you chose to prepare for your consulting interview? I suppose you could view a case study as an "exam" and it would be great to hear which books you decided to read. Also I am not sure if I should be doing extra (technical) reading along side this. In my case, the interview will be hosted by a Pharmaceutical firm. I'm not sure if I should be reading up more on the latest in science as I would be categorized as part of the R&D business consultants. Sorry for the wordy message! :) All the best,

I currently looking at applying to Masters of Management programs in the UK. I am trying to avoid taking any standardized test if possible because I've always been bad at taking them. I see that a lot of the programs, including UCL, says on their application site that GRE or GMAT is not required but encouraged. Do you have any insight into how much the test scores will affect the application, especially if I have a few years of work experience? I LOVE your videos! Thanks for sharing your experience! : )
@bykchoi
@bykchoi 4 жыл бұрын
I can’t say for sure because it depends on so many factors! I can only speak from my experience, and I decided to submit a score with my application (and had a few years of work experience as well). Since it’s not required, I don’t think it can hurt you to not include it so hopefully you don’t need to worry - it can only help!
