Ive realised I know intuitively as we all do when something doesn’t look right but I wasn’t sure what exactly was wrong or how to change it. That is what I love so much about your channel you are explaining all the mistakes. Have you done a video on choosing the right colour palette for your skin tone and hair? Or choosing a basic minimal wardrobe ? At the moment my wardrobe is like a rainbow and I need to cut it down to things that I can match and that actually go together.

Dear Chi, congrats for this great video. I used to wearing suits all the time at work; as a result, I learned to use its blazers as "jackets" for informal outfits. Well, having so many blazers in diferents, styles, tone of colors, and materials, really enhanced the possibilities to create or completes those outfits. I love blazers because definitely, they dresses up any look. You rigth "the eternal problem of the sleeves" unfortunately, we (the pettites) have to face it every time we are purchasing something. It helps to look for blazers that don’t have a sleeve vent, it’s so much easier (and cheaper if you have someone else do it), to shorten the sleeves. All that has to be done is shorten at the cuff, and move the buttons.

Virtually all the blazers for sale now are just too long and oversized for shorties like me. They lack waist definition too, not a great idea for my brick shape. Many of us tried to get that Mango cropped houndstooth blazer, but it sold out in a flash. I hope brands offer more cropped ones, or at least traditional length - ending between hip bone and leg break.

Just to add, I never tuck in tops because I'm shortwaisted with a large bust. It looks ridiculous. So I wear tops that are not necessarily intended to be tucked in, and wear top and trousers in the same color. Also, dresses work well, especially dresses with a defined waistline and a-line or fuller skirt, which doesn't pouch when you sit. Avoid pleated and gathered bottoms.
@jeanbean13903 жыл бұрын
@@edennis8578 I'm the same, short waisted with large bust. Dresses with a defined waist tend to show my gut and the dress waistline rides up and makes itself at home right under my bra 😳😞. I inherited my grandmother's menopause belly.

Having a bigger mid section. Is there another suggestion instead of tucking shirts?
@PetiteDressing3 жыл бұрын
You can wear the same color underlayer for top and bottom, and that will create a column of colors, which is slimming and elongating.
@edennis85783 жыл бұрын
I agree. Wear the top and bottom in the same color. Also, dresses with a defined waistline help, especially when the skirt is a-line or fuller. I love sheath styles, but finding them in petite sizes is hard, and if you buy a regular size, then the waistline hits too low and the curve of the hips doesn't hit the right place on your body.

Um, I'm only short compared to people taller than me. I'm totally proportional to my size. I'm not trying to look taller, I like my height. So since, I'm proportional, I don't have to adjust blazer styles. It looks no different on me than someone taller who is also proportional. I like wearing long blazers as they're slimming. I was watching a sewing channel and the host mentioned sleeves making a difference. She is inverted triangle shaped and short sleeves emphasize her upper body, especially bust, so she wears sleeves that are 3/4 or full to draw attention to her hips. So, would assume 3/4 can draw attention to waist helping make your legs look longer! Also, one question. I see that in your comparisons with the black midi skirt, you also changed from black to a nude shoe. You also had nude shoes with black skinny jeans/pants. Why not stick with black shoes? Thanks!
@PetiteDressing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing Janna! You can wear the black to echo the skirt color, but, nude has more leg elongating effect, which can balance out the "cut-off" effect of midi skirt!
