I personally don’t think you need to paint the trim around the bookcases. I like the pop of white. It makes the fireplace wall stand out. That’s my opinion, but I have a feeling you will paint it. Lol. Thanks for asking tho. Everything is beautiful. I’m thinking how much decor you have to put away after Christmas. That must be a real huge task. Honestly, Becca, l would leave the spaces between the bookcases and the mantle white. I think it makes the individual pieces pop. The room turned out absolutely beautiful. I can't tell you how many times over the years l have redone a tree. Lol

Good morning Becca. Stunning is the first word that comes to mind. What a great job! Just beautiful! It's a hard decision for me whether to paint the wall around the fireplace or not. Leaving it white frames the area nicely, but painting it would also look nice as well. I don't think I'm much help... it may be an easier decision as you look at it for a few days. I love it! It’s a winter wonderland. Warm and cozy. I LOVE the mantle and the soft white garlands draping from it. I also love the white houses and the nativity scene in the lantern. Beautiful job decorating!

Although I do love a wainscot wall around a fireplace that is completely painted, I think your room looks lovely as it is and will be beautiful no matter what you decide to do. Beautiful of course. I have the same White House’s and trees…(bought as a set at Costco). This is the new trend to the DICKENS VILLAGE HOUSES FROM THE 80’s and 90’s. Love the paint color choice SW RETREAT….A SOFT SUBTLE RELAXING GREEN. Although the painted mantle looks fine as is with the white trim I think finishing it in the RETREAT GREEN will make that one entire wall look like quality custom made shelving flanking the fireplace. My favorites…the snowball and the bead “garlands” draped below the fireplace mantle AND love the grey, red and white throw.

Good morning Becca. I woke up early and reached for my iPad hoping to see you there and Voila. The mantle looks gorgeous as well as the rest of the room. I can see why you are undecided about painting the rest of the wood. I kinda like it with the white but painted would look good also. Some help huh? I am so far behind with my decorating due to a bout with sciatica. Had a fluoroscopic injection in my SI joint yesterday and feel MUCH better this am but still have to take it easy a few days. The sitting room is just beautiful. I love the green accent wall. On one hand , the white frames each section. On the other hand, if you paint the white, it will have a more continuous look. If you are not sure, wait thru Christmas and then decide after the holidays. It will look beautiful either way.

I watched the whole video and at the end when you showed the before and after I said out loud “Holy cow” to no one!
