Great to be reminded to wear everything in our wardrobe. I have a self-imposed rotation system that forces me to wear each item in my wardrobe. I have one item per hanger and I plan my outfits for the working week. I have a separate wardrobe for the weekend and casual. I am a bit more spontaneous with how I wear those clothes. Whenever I get something new, I makeup different outfits and take photos on my phone and save them to a dedicated album so I have a record. Wardrobe management has become a hobby!!

Heather Valentine How fun that you are a Winter and lucky you getting to wear those fabulous dramatic colors. There is a system of energy movement typing in the US which is best explained by its’ inventor Carol Tuttle. You can find it under Dressing Your Truth on You Tube. I was skeptical but discovered thru it what my style truly is. As a color analyst myself I was clear I was an Autumn but could not have articulated why putting on a blazer depressed me. Turns out my energy expression is not suited to classics unless I mix a lot of adventurous choices with it. I am so much happier in my leopard faux fur oversize coat. Winters are perfectly suited to classic French Chic and thinking things thru and planning outfits.

I love accent colors, red, magenta, purple, turquoise etc, the clothing shown and their accessories are exactly the kind of things I would wear, it motivates me into looking through my wardrobe and looking for different ways to wear things and finding things that I had forgotten about, I learnt a few things listening to your videos mainly hem lengths and tying scarves, there is always more to learn, you do a very good job and your voice is quite pleasant to listen to.

Marie-Anne Lecoeur so as I think about this red challenge more. i started the day with my red bathrobe with satin trim (no kidding) & then as I was looking in my closet I saw my red scarf with white hearts & thought it looked lovely with a navy sweater ( to wear another day) and then as i was leaving the house I thought hey wear your red dress coat too!. Bonjour Marie-Anne, I've found a beautiful terracotta turtle neck sweater that normally I wear with all my navy and black pants etc etc but today for a change will wear my earth colours, ie brown ... And bought a dear little latte colour Baker boy cap yesterday for only two pounds so will be very sweet.. Will wear with my animal print long coat, have a great week paula x

I just pulled out a little cardigan sweater with suede patches I haven't worn in a while. It is black and camel so I put it with some black jeans, a black turtleneck, and a Burberry scarf with either black tennis shoes or black boots, with a tan long puff-coat over. It's snowing here so I need something warm and shoes that won't slip.

I loved the printed cardi with the red belt. Patent shine works well for you. I strongly prefer the darker shoes because withbyour dark hair this choice always provides a similiar satisfying coordination for the eye. The beige shoes may be elongating but just look off colorwise with the rest of the outfit for my aesthetic. Your legs are pretty and you have gorgeously tiny ankles ( serious ankle envy here!) so I love the coordination of the darker shoes on you. I always repeat my hair color ( whether cognac or white blonde) in my shoe color. XO

Bonjour Marie-Anne, my favorite is the sweater over the dress, such a creative way to make use of your clothing. Speaking of creative ways to wear clothing, I stumbled across a seamstress that was modifying Japanese Haori jackets and Kimonos so they could be worn as long vests and jackets. I wonder would a French Chic lady wear these and how? The silk fabrics and embroidery on some of the haori jackets are beautiful. A kimono had the arms taken off and shortened to create a beautiful long vest incorporating silk cords as belts. Many of these were vintage and had the family crest embroidered on the back of the jackets.

This is my third day to take the style challenge. I had three items, a rose colored cashmere twin set, (a teal Chanel style jacket, and a silk scarf that I bought to wear with the cashmere set) that I love but didn’t think I had more than one outfit I could wear with them. I actually wore all three items at once. It looks so good. Then I wore another black midi dress with the cashmere cardigan and a different scarf that I never considered wearing with the cardigan. Then I had a pair of black jeans that I wear every week but never considered a dressier sweater that is black and silver lurex. I got so many compliments!!! Thank you for all your advice and keep the challenges coming!!!

You have such a wonderfully coordinated wardrobe Marie-Anne. I think you will have many choices. I think a simple navy jacket would look lovely with that dress and with the red scarf you showed. I haven’t seen you in red before. It really suits you! My wardrobe makes that challenge difficult for me at the moment. I don’t have anything I don’t wear regularly, except special occasion pieces. So I’m opting out of the challenge. Good idea to think about how to utilise pieces that haven’t been worn in a while. I’ll challenge myself when I have more pieces and start to notice I’m not wearing something very often.

I love your red dress with the print sweater and nude pumps. The multicolor sweater with roll neck, tights and pumps also. I love the look with heels. I have a red dress but it is a summer weight. I do have a red wool skirt for winter. Navy, black and nude are all great accent colors with red. Red is not a neutral, but it can be styled with so many other neutrals.Love your polka dot scarf also.

I have a cream wool jumper that I don’t often wear because I look better with darker shades on top. I’m going to wear it with white skinny jeans and beige ( or maybe brown) suede knee high boots and a brown tee under the jumper, peeping out. I’ll wear it with my beige coat on top, my brown checked trilby hat and a caramel brown pashmina, or a light brown fake fur scarf. I’ll also have brown suede gloves. I’ve got some brown glass bead earrings but I might wear turquoise ones instead and use my turquoise/green handbag. This is very outside my comfort zone because I don’t really wear all neutral outfits very often. A dark teal or bright turquoise is my go to colour, on its own or with most of my wardrobe. I’m not sure if I’ve met the challenge, especially as I’ll probably have my coat on most of the afternoon while we are out tomorrow. 🤨. Actually, I could have started with the hat, because I’ve not worn it for even longer!

I loved the video so much! Do you have recomendations where to buy nice thin belts (like the one you showed, which can be worn at the waist) that don't cost a fortune from? I have such a hard time finding them. The only good quality ones I can find are wide and I am really petite so I can pull them off.

I probably won't wear it tomorrow, but the day after... I have a midi skirt in black that I don't wear very often. It's a very full skirt, with panels of velvet and very fine corduroy, and I'm thinking about wearing it with a plain black top and my cream shawl collar cardigan, black opaque tights and patent leather brogues. I find shades of red difficult to match. There are Blue Reds and Orange Reds. I know they do not have to be exact but similar or don't look good to me. It is called the "power color".

Hi Georgia, To your point, may I offer that reds will become easier to pair together after you decide which suits your coloring best and then curate your wardrobe to include that shade alone. I have a cool complexion so I stick with blue-toned reds and avoid those with yellow undertones as they appear more red-orange. I hope that this helps you.

Navy!, always navy with red for me. A sweater over a dress! Wonderful idea. I never would have thought. I have problems with my feet. Only kitten heels work for me, which I love. I can walk briskly in them and since I have shrunk 3 inches in my older years, they bring me UP to 5' 1".

I have always referred to pantyhose being nude in color. Tights were the same as pantyhose In fit and the same fabric but in colors like black or navy blue. Another great fashion discussion and a beautiful red dress my question is how to style a vest I have so many menswear vests with three buttons they still fit but I just don’t know how to wear them anymore
