I love midi skirts, I wear them a lot. I also wear minis sometimes to show off my legs. Skirts and dresses are the backbone of my wardrobe, I always love it when you feature them, thanks❤

I absolutely agree with you. Sometimes all I want to wear is trousers. For me, skirts, either mini or midi, are just a good addition. And you’re right, you can just wear trousers instead. That’s the beauty of a true capsule wardrobe😊

I both have what I love and love what I have; at age 63, I have the best wardrobe of my life. I also try to buy for life by buying restrained, classic styles and high quality, and mostly have succeeded, I still wear 40-year old items. If I don’t love a trend, or anything else about an item (it’s usually because it has synthetic fibers in it, a torment to wear, or is otherwise uncomfortable), I don’t buy it, or keep it, in those cases when I don’t discover a problem until later. It’s such a pleasure getting dressed every day, but I still love new ideas!

our personal style is a journey. I can already see so much improvement and awareness now comparing to a 20 year old ME. I agree with you about synthetics. I can say that if I buy something new (or second hand) now I only reach for natural fabrics and well made pieces (with a very few exceptions). I’m too poor to buy cheap clothes😜

Thanks for showing us some less-oversized styling options. I don’t feel I need to highlight my waist in every outfit, but mostly I try to show it, just to keep that 1/3 on top, 2/3 on bottom proportion, my relatively long legs are one of my best body features. I just don’t have your height, and I have a tiny frame, so oversized looks just aren’t great on me. If I wear the 1/2 and 1/2 proportions from wearing, say tops or sweaters that end around my leg break, it makes my whole figure look boxy, and my legs look stumpy. I never had the smallest waist, even at age 18 and 95 lbs., there’s just not enough vertical space for it to narrow much there, my ribcage sits right on my hipbones. Because it isn’t that small, especially compared to my narrow hips and shoulders, I don’t emphasize it with contrasting belts, instead I match them to my skirt, dress or trousers.
