Oh, the beauty of having a well-curated color palette! It was remarkable to see pieces in your wardrobe we are familiar with, and notice how all the shades of tan, gold, caramel beige, blue, and red went with each other. Plus, this capsule-within-a-capsule showed the importance of having a solid core of pieces in neutral colors that will glue and frame the more "eye catching" pieces: the handbags, boots, jackets, sweaters, athletic shoes, button up shirts, coats...everything seemed to flow together with the satiny, ultra feminine skirt. Brava, Alyssa!

I have a light blue slip skirt with the same bias cut. You gave me lots of ideas for styling it. Along those same lines, I picked up a long black pencil skirt in a stretchy, athletic wear fabric. I'm really excited about. Wearing a comfortable skirt instead of pants is kinda radical these days.

Been wearing satin slip skirts (of all colors and fabrications- silk, poly, rayon) styled many ways, but mostly casually in the winter with blazers or big sweaters/boots and summer with tees sneakers, sandals, and boots since... well, a looooong time (Lol) very me with the rock n roll Bohemian look that hasn't always been in style, but always me. One of the reasons why I watch people like you is to be inspired to try things I wouldn't envision otherwise...I would never think of pairing a skirt with such a smooth, lustrous finish with a chunky, textured, cable knit sweater, but alas, it looks amazing. Love this. I own a couple of slip skirts and I always feel so self conscious in them because of the drape but this gave me some ideas to try. So - depending on the top I'll fold the bottom of it, then tuck the folded part in and any folds that are left "blouse" them over ... I don't know if that makes sense I'll try and show it next time!

Love the texture play and the soft contrast outfits. Mixing blues and browns is one of my fave combos and I don't think I've seen that blue sweater here before? Also for those who don't have a slip skirt, you can sub in a slip dress and use a belt and blouson effect to mimic a tuck in.
