I always love seeing videos on styling kicks. Since 2020 it’s been my go to almost every time I go out of the house. Having been in slippers, working from home for the last three years, it’s hard to go back to uncomfortable heels. 🤷‍♀️

Good one. I have never been a big fan of sneakers, especially with dresses! I stick to white leather, simple ones. I recently had a waitress job so got some legit cross trainers. I am inspired to rethink some of my combos. My fav was the wide leg pants and skirt with contrasting shoes.

Haha, the fact that I would have styled every single outfit in this video with ballerina flats instead of sneakers shows me how stubborn I am regarding footwear. Sneakers are a necessary evil for me, and the only ones I own are the slimmest, most classic version I could find. But the fact that personal taste is so different is the cool thing about it!

Love this, I'm a big fan of sneakers/ trainers especially as we often have rain in summer. I use lofers sometimes but sneakers are my go-to when walking far and I always go back to jeans so loved seeing lots more options. Love the different looks and balances. Great video.

great stuff! that dress is a huge surprise for you and at first i was like, "no! that is just not any of your three words". lol. but after a few seconds i got used to it. i like it on you. thanks for this. i have a few pairs of bamboo sneakers...look at cariuma, a brand made in brazil. they are your kind of company. (no i don't work for them, but have three pairs of their sneakers and have gifted them to a few people who also love them.) mine are light pink, beige and red. lol a throwback to my childhood. i also have a white leather pair, so this is a great reminder!

I think the blue puzzle went well with the first dress. The sneaker had a coloring that made it work and yes I agree you should have your hair up in a top knot or pony tail for the look to work. I think getting the puzzle in tan is great, but the blue does work with a lot of the outfits you have there.

@@AlyssaBeltempo fyi, it looks like your small puzzle is a first generation because I see that the straps are wider, there’s a D ring at the back and the bag has “feet”. The current small puzzles have a slimmer strap (some have found the connections a little annoying), there is no D ring to convert the bag to a sling back, and there are NO FEET. I found that to be the most disappointing which is why I bought the medium which has all 3 of the missing details. I have been looking for the first generation small puzzle in the preloved market but alas no luck. I may have missed a video on your thoughts about your small puzzle bag and why you chose that size, but try the medium. I’d love to hear what you think about both sizes!

Wow, this inspired me to wear a set that I have. It is light brown constisting of a blazer and wider leg shorts(like yours but made out of tencel, so the fabric is not stiff). And I have a very feminine blouse with puffy sleeves that I will put under it, similarly how you styled it in your second outift. And then I ´ll add my white sneakers. Thank you so much! 😀❤ I have never actually considered pairing those things together. The set always felt a bit too formal for me for summer, but the sneakers loosen it up a little. And then the feminine blouse juxtaposes the masculine energy of the blazer.

Very good info! I have hourglass figure and thick ankles and calves. Except for long wide trousers, is there another way to wear sneakers? They dont look good for me with midi or long dresses unless they have no laces

Love it! I have sneakers with a longer tongue like your first white ones, and I like my lower profile ones (like Converse All Star) so my ankle shows a little more. I don't like the proportion when the higher tongue hides my ankle. Great video for shopping around our shoes!!

@@africanmermaid234 Yes, I think I get your point. I wasn't as descriptive as I should have been. Some gym shoes just look odd with certain dresses. I've seen a long tulle ballerina skirt look great with a pair of Concerse hi-tops, but look awful with another type of sneakers. Like pairing combat boots with unexpected items, it's a fine line with sneakers.

yes. the puzzle is incredibly expensive. I saved for about 3 years before buying mine and was able to find it secondhand for less then half the retail price which is still hefty.

I wear gym shoes (as we call them here), every chance I get. With jeans, slacks, short dresses, maxi dresses, wide leg pants, leggings, etc. I decided once I hit 50, that I would only wear comfortable shoes that are easy to walk in so I would also walk more for my health and wellbeing. I probably have 20 pair in all shapes and colors, including white. In the fall/winter, ankle boots are my go to, and only comfortable ones. I'll wear heels and other shoes if the look just slays with certain heels, but I have no corns, no chafed heels, no blisters - and haven't had them for years and that's how I like it. 🙂

I kinda feel pairing sneakers with dresses and skirts is always tricky... Personally I think the first dress would look fantastic with Bottega black white speedster sneakers. If pairing with white sneakers, then a pair of elegant minimal Common Project style sneakers might be a better option...

I think it depends on the proportions you want - the shoe will look quite exagerrated and it will draw the focus down so it will be a question of personal taste ... sorry about the quality - i normally upload a higher quality!

You are a shoe person. You know your shoes. Your shoe game is strong. So I trust you with these sneaker styling tips. Great ideas, and I like your outfits, the clothes are very nice and classic. But girl. You got to let that tan leather clutch-thing GO! You don’t understand how it feels like to a bag-person to see you trying it on with your oherwise cool outfits, teasing that you would use THAT ”thing” as a cherry on top. You have the Puzzle now. So whenever in doubt, just run with it. And yes, you need another Puzzle too.

Normally I love everything you do(with exception your last video talking about shorts in corporate🤨). Even when I worked in a casual work environment I never wore shorts. But I get it the texture shoes are in white sneakers out. I think for this to work I would go more for like a converse type of shoe that is lighter on the feet or a slip on sneaker. In my opinion and I’m not a stylist. If I did running shoes it would have to match my outfit in some color aspect and add a crossbody back to make it more casual. If not it looks like you changed into your running shoes to run errands. But I loved the outfits.

Thanks for all the tips. I think I’m not feeling this trend. I like colored sneakers and slimmer sneakers. The chunky all-white sneakers paired with a dress reminds me of elderly women who live in nursing homes. All that’s missing are a pair of pantyhose. I’ll wait till I’m 60 to rock that look. Right now, my favorite sneaker to pair with dresses are multi-colored shell top adidas. Feels like I’m wearing costume jewelry on my feet, which I love. As an alternative to the chunky white sneaker, I highly recommend white Tevas. They’ll keep your feet cool and, for me, they are easier to style with dresses than a chunky gym shoe. Love the pairing of the sneaker with those trousers, gotta try that soon.

I'm giggling every time you lament not having a tan puzzle, because that is precisely the color I bought, and I struggle to bother wearing anything else. The only time I genuinely can't get myself to reach for it is when I'm already wearing A LOT of brown. It feels too matchy matchy. But otherwise, it's dressy, it's casual, it's slouchy, it's structured.

I hate sneakers. Just not my jam. My sub for them is the lug sole boot, lighter ones for spring, even early summer in my cold state. A lot of the styling about balancing the weight of a chunky sneaker applies.

I appreciate this video and outfit ideas. My opinion isnt a critique on anyone but trainers with dresses or shirts bumps me the heaviness of the trainer paired with the fluidity of a dress or skirt isnt something that's visually appealing to me. It reminds me of New Yorkers going from the subway to work. Completely utilitarian comfortable but not for style. For me the trainer needs to be sleeker and have a lower profile like those canvas keds or supergas...just my opinion.
