If u registered on e-filing and didn't get any email requesting you to submit supporting documents. And when you do try to submit yourself they say you need to have case number Where do you get the case number Because I've been sent the tax reference number, but I haven't received any email saying, "congrats You've joined our income tax payers..." And I'm getting worried because I don't know what I did wrong, because the people I applied with, they got the email requesting submission of supporting documents and the congratulatory email as well. But they applied on the website not the app

Hi, I had an appointment with a SARS agent last week and had to submit a document on the appointment case number for the agent to resolve our case. But when I try submit the needed document with the method you showed, it keeps giving me an error saying "The following cases are active for this tax ref number: (old reference number for another case). So basically I can't submit documents on the new case number. Any ideas?? I have tried phoning them but currently the lines are mayhem... Yesterday and today I was number 1860 in the queue...

If there is a case currently pending for the same tax number, that will need to be concluded first. Yes SARS currently has a massive traffic. You will need to conclude the older case first.
