How to Submit to Spotify Editorial Playlists (Full Walkthrough)

This process also helps "Tag" your song with useful metadata that will also help you get into Algorithmic Playlists. Doing this gets your music in front of the Spotify Staff (not 3rd party curators... that's something different), and it's entirely free as long as you have Spotify for Artists. You'll need to release at least one song for your Spotify for Artist portal to be claimed.

Hey Ryan, I submit to Spotify Editorial Playlists 4 weeks before every release. Just to let you know, I was able to open my Spotify for Artists account before my first release, AND successfully submit to Editorial Playlists for my first release.

I'm able to pitch a song for one of my songs on the upcoming release, I'm not a featured artist and it's not a collection so I should be able to add a description but it's not letting me ad a description? Someone please provide some insight or information as to how this can be fixed

I listened to this song, and it did not sound like it featured live drums, but you chose drum kit as one of the instruments on the track. I'm just trying to figure out what drum kit means, because I understand it to mean acoustic drums.

I'm new to this. I haven't yet submitted any songs to a digital distributor and would like advice on timing. I have 30 singles mixed and mastered and I would like all of them to be considered by Spotify for their Editorial Playlists. How do I time the submission of each song to get them all in Spotify's queue in a timely manner? Like, should I upload them all to my digital distributor then spread out the release dates?

Hi Ryan! thanks! I understand it has to be an unreleased track for playlist consideration. But it is ok to release a taster eg 15 sec of my track prior to release (like in my socials or in an advert)?? Would it still be considered an unreleased track?

Teasers are ok to post whenever,unless your label says otherwise. It's a good idea to make teasers and make people excited!

They will not tell you if you've gotten denied or they haven't listened to your submission yet, you will only POSSIBLY be notified if your submission is accepted.

In your opinion, would a person who just uploaded their first song, benefit from paying someone to submit to Spotify Curators on their behalf?

If you are paying someone from an online agency, I would not recommend it, unless you personally know the person or agency. Almost every submission service is a scam, they will have you pay money and place you on user-made playlists, not Spotify Editorial Playlists, and then they will generate fake streams for that playlist, you will get great numbers, but if Spotify even suspects that you are paying for streams or playlist spots, your music will be removed, you will be banned from uploading songs, and they can even take back any revenue you made.

Is there a service that can submit your song to various playlists and curator on multiple streaming platforms for u. Its a lot of work to do it yourself to individual curators
