Show that you've done some reading. Know what the problems and limitations are in the field. Why is research needed here? 06:14 Tip #3 - Describe your aims and hypothesis. Break it down in main aims. Such a useful video! It seems to me that it applies for research proposal rather than cover letter. The university I'm applying to has given a really vague requirement in terms of the cover letter. Namely, "A clear covering letter highlighting your interest in studying for a PhD within the remit of [this] research area". I'm not sure whether I should include my interest as a researcher or as a potential PhD student. I'd really appreciate some advice!

What do you think about taking a gap year before doing your PhD/masters? Do you regret not taking a year out to travel or have fun? Also what are you doing after you graduated from your PhD?

I was thinking about getting a PhD but I honestly couldn't put up with the bs involved in applying, only to get robbed economically and then not even expect a slight change in my salary . It's there for people that can and actually want it, do not get it of you expect a higher pay grade.
