@@mariaohno403 Hi there! Depends how you use your car, how dirty it gets. It’s recommended to have two basic details a month for a daily driver. Plus a full detail before the winter comes and another one in the spring. 🙂 it’s not recommended to polish (paint correct) the paint every year. Do it once, protect it and use safe wash methods do you won’t induce any swirls into the paintwork.

I've been wanting open a car detailing business lately and after watching your videos, I've never been more confident in myself. I watched the interior, wheels, engine bay, and took many many notes. I finally did it, I got a couple customers and I am starting next week and I can't wait. Thank you Chris! I even watch your other videos on mechanical issues and the others. Every single one of your videos is very clear and has helped so much. Also this is almost a 7 year old video, wow time flew by so fast, and I still see you replying to comments. @@malusvir0 so far it’s been good. The first 3 weeks or so I had a good amount of people reaching out. Most of them came through, meaning I detailed their cars. Now I’m just having trouble getting customers. It’s most likely because I stopped putting ads out as much as I used to because life got in the way and I had personal problems to deal with. But don’t forget to do ads and ask for reviews after a day or two. Also I printed out business cards at staples for cheap, I’d recommend it as it helps getting your name out there as well. Currently I’m not mobile, I ask for water and electricity and I haven’t had a problem with that. Half my customers asked me if I need it and offered 👍 Best of luck to you!

Cleaning and tinkering on the car that the younger me would've dreamed of really helps me to get through the day sometimes, and to know there are people out there who love doing the exact same things as I do, makes me feel a lot better about myself. It might seem kinda weird to say this but, watching your videos really helps me to take my mind off things sometimes. I often find myself coming back and watching your videos in my free time, even if I don't need to figure out how to topup the indicator fluid or the correct way to recalibrate the mirrors

Yeah that stuff always confuses me as well. If you don't like a video "enough" that you're compelled to give it a thumbs down, the least you can do is leave a comment and explain why you didn't like it. It is actually helpful to get feedback from viewers so you can always be improving. A down vote, just because, w/o any useful feedback is just people being d*cks.

Something important to mention is if you drop your clay bar, do not use it on paint anymore. You will be tempted to pick out the visible contaminants and keep using it. Do not do this. No matter how "clean" it looks. It isn't worth the risk. You can also cut your new clay bars in half, half a bar is easily enough to clay an average vehicle. This gives you more bars of clay you know are 100% clean, and if you drop it, you're not wasting the entire bar. Also, don't stop at the paint. Clay everything, glass, wheels, chrome, lights, trim, etc. You can also save older bars for less sensitive areas. I use new bars for paint, and have older bars designated for glass only, wheels only, etc. use before finally throwing them away when they're trashed. 👍👌✌

I already knew why detailers charged a quite a bit, but now its even more clear after watching this video. It's a lot of care and effort that is put towards making your exterior feel so fresh and new. I'm planning on doing this myself, but I have garnered even more respect for detailers. Just the exterior can be a lot of work, I can't even fathom the amount of effort required to clean the interior.

Just wanted to let you know that this was the video that did it for me. The one I saw that gave me the final push to getting serious about taking care of my car, my 87 IROC-Z. Stopped going to the spin wash and instead spent 6-8 hours at the hand wash clay barring and waxing. Sold the IROC, bought a 77 Fleetwood Brougham that got the same amount of love and care Even she's moved on to someone new though, now its my 01 Outback H6's turn. I came back to say thank you ChrisFix, and I'm glad to see it still inspires others too! BTW, your wash and wax methods also work when cleaning up Underwood 5 and Royal 10 Typewriter panels!

+roscoe grinde Photoshopping? If you are talking about the before and after pics they were taken at different times if the day. Therefore the white balance and exposure is different. This isn't a 5min wash and add filming on top of that. Watch the whole video and you will see the results.

I was seeing the different change on the tree colors. I should have thought of the angles of light. But you did a great job of explaining on how to do great work. Do you also have videos on how to use a buffer? To be clear I was saying it's worth the watch. Your work is top notch. I am sorry that I didn't catch that the sun moves. I face palm at this point.

I've been detailing my cars ever since my first one at age 16, some 40 odd years ago; every Sunday was car care day, wash, wax, armor all and windex and tires and rims. Now with a brand new Power Wagon, I've decided I need to take my detailing to another level. This video all with all his other videos are helping me do just that.
