Started beach fishing & used your kites for Muriwai.In my mid fifties into kayaks & soft baiting.Now getting close to 70s back to beach fishing lol. Not into drones yet but I will keep it in mind. Great vids Paul.

What is the rod/reel/line/rig you are using ? Love the drone video paul.

The red rod is a 30 year old old fiberglass Kilwell rod with a Penn Spin-Fisher 950 SSM spooled with 700 metres of 50lb spectra The Blue rod is a 24kg stand-up carbon fibre with 150mm snapped off the end and a new top guide fitted. It's a stiff rod that has a great hookup rate when unattended. The reel on it is a Tica Cybernetic 10000 spooled with 700 metres of 50lb spectra.

@@paulsfishingsystems Thank you Paul , I was looking at using a 30lbs class boat rod which has a glass tip Think thats only 13kg ? , ill be using a shimano ultegra 14000 and 50lb braid

@@manchapkarm3626 The Shimano Ultegra is not the best reel to use because it has a long thin spool shaft that is weak at the top of the stroke of the bail arm. The Penn and Tica are bigger diameter and shorter spools so apply less load on the shaft. You will get sharks, kingfish and the occasional ray when drone fishing so you will encounter big loads at times. I have just increased the line on my Tica to 80lb spectra to prepare for the arrival of big kingfish at the end of the month.

@@paulsfishingsystems Hi paul we do get the odd shark here in the uk , i will be targeting Cod . I know what you mean re the Ultegra been not too strong. I might use My Diawa 900H or penn 320gti ?

@@manchapkarm3626 The most important thing is to make sure your reel has a lot of line capacity. I prefer a minimum of 500 metres.
