You're opening on the topic of WATER is where I need to start! FULL STOP!! it is scary that the ONE element I need the most is ignored a lot!! I have a wonderful well, so I am blessed, but if an electrical outage lasts more than a few days, I do not have a way to get the water out of the well. That is so bad!! THANK YOU for all of the topics you touched on here...

Have 3 Ecoflow , 2 Jackery , 1 Pecron , and just purchased Bluetti AC200 L . Charge them with my Honda 4000 gas generator ( 41 years old and runs like new ) cared for it . The Ecoflow ( 7 years old ) have only 800 cycles . The Bluetti has 3000 plus cycles because it it lithium phosphate ( need the phospate - did not have 7 years ago ) Make sure you buy lithium phosphate if you care about getting 3000 cycles . Saved all my food when lost power for 20 hours and then 18 hours 2 weeks later . Solar is the way to go . No gas or oil . Charge them with your gas generator or solar panels when the gas runs out . Charge 1 hour gas 12-14 hours in solar if you are lucky enough to have sun . Have supplies . Puts you in control .

Wow, that's a lot of portable power packs! Agree about going with lithium iron phosphate batteries in those for longer life. I like the brands you mentioned. However, unless you need them to be portable, if you are planning to put that much $ into power packs, could set up a nice permanent system with likely much better performance. But it wouldn't be portable. Just another option to think about.

Soap Stone wood stove . Have heat 4 hours after the fire goes out ( takes 30-45 minutes to get heat -down side ) . Have radiant heat same temp in bedroom and living room . Does not get so hot you have to open the windows and you are not a slave to your stove . Heats all night and when you get up just add wood to the hot coals . 44 years and I love it .

If you have $1500 to spare, add to it, and get a freeze dryer!!! Best investment I ever made! I have 7+ months of food stored…..and I’ve only had my freeze dryer about that long!!! Beats rice and beans! Love the water storage tips! Thank you!

Yes, very true! That's a great option as long as you have plenty of power (they take a TON of power for each cycle). But if you can put up a bunch of food while you have power, it makes for a great pantry with lots of options that can last a long time. Thanks for sharing!

@@SasssyPie Interesting. I'd love to see what you come up with if you checked it with a Kill-A-Watt meter or similar (if it's 120 volts) to see how many kWh per load you average.

I refill all glass jars and bottles with water. I don't rotate but I do have silver impregnated ceramic dome filter with activated charcoal and hundreds of two quart purify tablets, pool shock. I line store bought water bottles under clothes in the dresser drawers that have room. I have fifth bottles with water on shelves behind photo frames and stacks of books. A bonus for that is it brought everything to the very front of the shelf, less dusting. I took three cup mylar bags and filled with water. Taped those in a slight over lapping to cardboard and slide under the couch. I have seven gallons total under the couch alone. I've been in this apartment since 2009, I had to get inventive for hiding all.
@TheReadyLife3 күн бұрын
Yes, that is one approach, to not worry about rotation and just be prepared to purify the water when you need it. But if you put away sealed water containers, you'll have water ready to use right away during a disaster without any extra steps. Both valid approaches, but I prefer the second option if possible.

You said the $50 was enough for a family of 4 for 2 weeks? Are you only eating a single meal a day per person?
@TheReadyLife3 күн бұрын
On the video, Lisa walks through how we came up with that. It was for 3 meals a day x 2 weeks for our family of 4, based on real world amounts (not the "servings" printed on the package which are usually super small). It would absolutely be extremely basic and boring meals--oatmeal every breakfast and rice + beans for most lunch and suppers with some occasional pasta, but it would sustain you and fill your belly. If you can afford more than $50, then by all means add some variety, but we were just trying to illustrate that virtually anyone on any budget can put away at least a couple weeks of food. And the beauty of this is that it's food you'll eat anyway, so in a few months you can eat up these items and replace them with fresh ones, and nothing goes bad.

Thanks for double checking on this, but here's the CDC link below where we got this from. It's for 5-9% sodium hypochlorite and ours is 8.75%. www.cdc.gov/water-emergency/about/index.html You'll find a range of concentrations from various authorities on this topic, which indicates to me that there is not one precise concentration that must be used. I went with the CDC's version since it was roughly in the middle of the spectrum that is published.

Good points in the video, But, if people are pretribulation Rapture believers they will not be here when Revelation 13 occurs. One of the blessings is that believers will not have to endure the tribulation turmoil, mark of the beast and hard times because, believers will not be on planet earth until Christ returns.
@lbfaith4 күн бұрын
I believe there are 3 raptures. Those that are gifted a crown.Pretrib The many that are dressed in white robes that have made it out. The ones who endured. Mid trib And there are one who’ve denied the mark and became believers in the trib. The martyrs. Pre wrath But tha is just me and a few others.
@TheReadyLife3 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. We believe that throughout history God's way has not been to remove His people from tribulation but rather to be with them through it. And we believe the Bible teaches that the "rapture" will not be secret and will not take place until Christ returns, which means that God's people will be going through a time of trouble. I understand there are a couple of verses in the scriptures that some believe indicate a pretrib rapture, but from what we read in Revelation and the overwhelming weight of evidence, it seems clear to us that we are not going to be removed ahead of time. So this is why it makes sense to be better prepared--not that we're going to be able to save ourselves from everything that comes, but because it's a principle to do our part and cooperate with God. I respect your opinion on this matter, so please don't take this as an attack on what you believer...merely stating our belief and how this has influenced our actions. Blessings!
