I had to fight off 3 pitt bulls (one was a mix and one was blind I think). Key for me was to stay standing and kick with one leg. I tried not to reach down where I could be pulled down. Had my back to my truck. Luckily I had steal toe work shoes on which helped a lot. By the time I was able to make it onto my flatbed I had no pants on and was still wearing my belt. About 40 stitches all on my kicking leg and all between my ankle and knee. Was lucky , but maint point is stay on your feet.

Always carry a walking stick or an actual weapon every time you leave the house, even to let the dog out quick. Always have a light on you at dark, even if it is barely 8pm. When one comes at you from behind, start throwing elbows and scream like hell. I survived a pittbull attack and saved my small dog. Neighbors dog came out of their garage at us walking outside. Never again.

I swear I watched videos like this before and even though they had good tips, I forgot and panicked. A few minutes ago, I was walking 🚶‍♀️to the bus stop to pick my kids up from school. It happened so quick I couldn't remain calm. I walked past the house and the dog was so quiet 🤫, he ran up on me barking. I stopped ✋and shouted No but he slowly was coming towards me, I said uh uh, and he looked backed at his house. Luckily the owner called him back and ran back to his house. I'm glad she apologized though. Hopefully next time I will try to be calm. I'm just glad it wasn't a Pitbull, Rottweiler, or German Shepherd.

When I was walking back to my sorority from the hospital at night after finishing my shift I was surrounded by a group of street dogs that gathered out of nowhere! There were about literally 10 dogs but all the glory to God that He made me survive. This is what I did. *Stayed calm, composed, didn't panic *Kept moving inch by inch without making eye contacts *Didn't try to shoo the dogs away with my bag but instead at a point I just said 'shoo' loudly and kept moving at a slow pace *Never showed my teeth while trying my best to escape (which my mom taught me) ...I safely reached my sorority without any injuries. The dogs kept barking vigorously and followed me throughout my place, some came and stood in front of me and refused to move! If not for God, I wouldn't have survived that day! And I NEVER knew our campus had access to the street dogs to sneak in at night. As an Indian who is well aware about these scary street dog attacks at night, it wasn't a surprise to me but to have experienced it gives me chills sometimes!

To add to this, if the dog does bite your forearm, don’t pull out, push forward, since the dog will likely gag or be unable to breath. Also, their nose is extremely sensitive, so if you have to attack, hit the nose!

Tell me what you think about my experience: I was walking to my house when a stray came out from under the car right beside me. I didn't even turn to see it, and I just kept walking slower. (I tend to walk very fast thanks to paranoia, I'm Mexican so less time in the street is better). It was barking and growling with no other emotion but hate and I was sure that it would bite me, but it didn't. That's all I did. Walk slower. Not turning to see it. Not moving anything else than my feet and breathing calmly. I was never the same. Now I have a car and go everywhere with it, but every time I have to walk on the same street I keep my sharp keys in my hand. Never again.
