This video is really good for the topic! The only thing I would add to this video is to stay in shelter for the first 8-ish days, instead of just 24 hours. The half life of the elements left behind can last from only a few hours to hundreds of millions of years (like Uranium-235). 8 days is the half life of Iodine-131, which is the last chemical in a nuclear explosion that dies out relatively quickly. After Iodine, is Plutonium, and that one lasts for thousands of years. The reason this is important to know is because 5% of the total energy of a nuclear explosion comes through as the initial iodizing radiation, but 5-10% stay as remnants of the iodizing radiation, proving as deadly if not more deadly, so if you wait 8 days for the Iodine to die off, then you'll be going out into an environment just about as safe as it'll get. Another circumstantial benefit is that fires will be just about burnt out by the 8-day mark. Of course I could be wrong. I have never been in a nuclear explosion, and I AM NOT a certified doctor or scientist so take what I say with a grain of salt.

It's in the middle of freaking nowhere though XD I've always been afraid of the 90 year old mannequin with the gas mask and uniform. Mainly because it was nazi :/ Yes my great grandpa was a nazi but he was FORCED to be a nazi. It's still good to keep because no matter how bad it was it is still a mark in history. Update: I just found out our basments are NOT nuclear bunkers, brothers will lie to you like that. Being a boomer, I clearly remember the Cuban Missile Crisis and the terror in the eyes of our teachers and parents at the time. Not much was known about nukes in those days and they were extremely dirty bombs with huge byproduct particles instead of the newest efficient bombs of today that leave very little radioactive waste. Duck and cover was the word of the day and every kid in town knew where every fallout shelter sign was and how to get in. Now I look out for myself and my kids and thank God my parents are not here to see what is going on now.

In case of a Nuclear War I'm driving to the nearest Casino. They have blast proof windows and doors to protect all of their slot machines. I know that I will be safe inside of the Casino.

There is a lot to add to this video, but most important is that air will be contaminated with radioactive dust, so the shelter should be kept with doors and windows closed and sealed with clotes or whatever found around... Masks are + as well, FFP3 tickness of fiters is the best
