It would help if you tried getting your information outside of the Western media as well. Russians are not making any 100 Megaton nuclear weapons, and if you want to have a solid scientific channel, hold to the facts and not to the Western propaganda which tries with all of its might to portray Russians as world baddies.

She also felt bad not calling their daughter immediately instead..... I guess good thing do came out of accident though, they fixed their shit and are living together once again. @@highjenks3d We have been! Schools were doing air raid drills where students had to mass in safe areas and actually “taking cover” under their desks - these were normal public school days in the 50s… People were building air raid shelters - even it was just stocking up the basement! Somewhere along the line we got lackadaisical thinking it was not gonna happen or survival was actually undesirable - if even possible! It all added up to the MAD concept and we focused on disarmament and peace…

When I was growing up in the 1970's and 80's I asked my teacher about surviving a nuclear war. She told me that I lived within 100 miles of several hundred primary strategic targets and less than 10 miles from the Air Force's MAC hub (Travis AF Base). If there was going to be a nuclear war, there was no chance at all that I was going to survive the first strike. The good news was, at least it wouldn't hurt. My body would be totally vaporized even before it started to fall over. Funny enough, this was comforting.

recommendations: 1. get behind a structurally sound wall if you know the bomb is coming 2. close your eyes if possible (the light can blind you for 10 min, up to 35 even) 3. you probably have up to 10-20 min to gather your family and find a safe shelter after the initial drop 4. staying inside or in a covered area that is unlikely to fall or be affected by the heat is smart 5. a medium level nuke bomb's majorly affected areas are in a 2km radius around the drop point

I want to add a couple of things that this video doesn’t cover. The most likely scenario is an aerial burst not a ground burst. Being that this is much more likely it’s a shame the video didn’t cover aerial bursts and EMp. Secondly radiation is not as simple as waiting it out for two weeks. Some highly radioactive particles will still be deadly up to six weeks. Also remember that all outside water sources and air will be heavily contaminated for quite some time.

Tactical nukes would be more ground based for military targets but most cities for secondary strikes would be aerial due to damage being increased for a surface level destruction. I was In Hawaii when this occurred, they never advised us to go inside or pull over. They literally just said “find shelter immediately”. My bf at the time, who was ironically a missile technician (we are both navy) told me it would take approximately 12 minutes to get to us if it was being shot from North Korea. The blast would blind us instantly and we would die 100%. We quickly found out Hawaii did not have any fallout shelters, or well the ones they did have were up in the mountains and driving to them would be pointless. We ended up going to the basement of our apartment building where many people had gathered. We were in uniform after just having gotten off duty. Everyone flooded us with questions and were in tears. We told everyone to call their families and say goodbye. Parents opened manholes in the streets and told their families to crawl in. We waited what felt forever in this basement knowing no one would survive. We finally went back into our apartment after I believe 30-45 minutes of nothing happening. We realized it was obviously a false alarm before they finally officially told everyone. Every single person thought they were going to die. The ships went into battle stations and all of us were being called into work. It was very traumatic to say the least.

no it isn't. People see the news and they are searching this. And after many people searched this and commented on it, it trends. Just like always with the algorithm. So it's not weird or scary that this gets recommended, it's totally logical.

I was eating breakfast in Maui when the accidental missile warning happened. It took a minute to process what was happening, but after I did, I wasn't really all that scared. I realized if there was a ballistic missile heading to Hawaii, there would be little to no chance I'd survive. Good thing it ended up being nothing more than a mistake.

Timely recommendation. I'm a 15 year resident of Hiroshima City, have met survivors of Little Boy, and observe the yearly moment of silence on August 6. The nuclear option is not an option. Time for the big boys of the world to put down their toys.

I just HATE the idea that nobody wants this tragedy to happen..yet we as common people don't have a choice when the big boys of the world decide they want some more earth for themselves A handful of idiots have power over all of us..but they don't care about anyone but themselves The human nature is sad, upsetting and scary all at once

For the people that don't want to waste 20 minutes, the steps are 1)find a basement with thick walls 2) remove your clothing and put it in bag far away (it'll have fallout on it) 3)shower with soap but no conditioner 4)stay inside for as long as possible.

Another important tip when trying to wash potential contamination off is to ensure you don't wipe your skin and avoid any water from entering your orifices. This is to minimize any internal exposure because some daughters from the fallout could stay in your body for years as opposed to being on the outside of your body for a much shorter amount of time.
