I've seen your youtube shorts several times and have grown to really admire all the excellent attitude and awareness you present, not to mention the solid information you give about Japanese culture and material realities. The attitude you convey to differences of all kinds are really quite sophisticated and much appreciated, especially since the style of presentation gives no clue how much anyone can learn from you who has ears to hear.

How do they avoid frozen plumbing in cold areas in Japan? Here in the US, last week I experienced temperatures of -20C. Without general heating I would have had the water pipes in my house freeze and burst. In the past I have lived in areas where it got down to -40C with a windchill of -60C. I don't think limiting heat to 1 or 2 rooms would be sufficient especially given that the water well must be located outside the house and there are ~100M total of water pipes for distributing hot and cold water throughout the house.

On the farm we used something called "heat tape" to keep the pipes from freezing for livestock. First you wrap the heat tape around the pipe and then a layer of insulation. The heat tape contains wires and converts electricity to a small amount of heat. The limitations are that you must have electrical service available close to the pipe and one heat tape can only protect ~2M of pipe. It's also a big pain if the heat tape stops working or the electricity goes out due to a storm.

Many outside pipes are wrapped. Also, many water heaters will turn on automatically when the temperature is too low. Move hot water through the pipes.

The AI voice (I can't believe you speak like that or maybe you do) is unpleasant to listen to, 40 seconds and out

it is very simple take cold showers, and your body will be prepared for the cold. it all about breaking the ice and regulating your body to get used to the cold.

Good informative video again, in another life I used to drive interstate haulage, here in Australia, during the cold winters night( as we were inter-city overnight freighters) I would drive in my "special slightly altered" sleeping bag, as I learned not to switch on the heaters as that would put you in ZZZZ land, (the amount of guys falling asleep and coming off the road, was enough to be concerning) it allowed me to keep the side window slightly open as to allow fresh cold night air in, I have spoken to others about this and I wonder if some one heard it and thought that's a good idea and developed the full body sleeping bag. If it does keep one warm, it would work a treat in the long distance overnight haulage, it's just that you'd have to ignore the looks and raised eyebrows when you park the truck and walk into an all night roadhouse for a coffee break.

She could always buy a kerosene fan heater. Clean, economical, and heats up a room in no time. Central heating may be nice, but heating up the rooms you don’t use is a huge waste.

Of course, I would like the whole apartment to be heated, but unfortunately we have to get used to it and look for solutions. Thanks for the advice!🤗

In South Korea some homes have charcoal heated ducts under the floor.

The heated floors in Korea are heavenly. Too bad I lived in an old Quonset hut with bare concrete floors and no underfoot heating.😢

Get the impression she is trying to get one video out per day. Content not important.

Yeah, it's AI delivered which stops me from subscribing. When a someone puts out this style of video without using their genuine voice it always makes me suspicious and unlikely to sub so as not to support AI content. It's also harder to tell if content is stolen but I don't -think- this is stolen.

@RightsForZombies that's the weird bit. She has a real channel... just not sure if this is also hers and she uses auto translate
@RightsForZombies5 күн бұрын
@ why would she use auto translate as a native English speaker? What’s her real channel? Her content seems interesting mostly but I’m not interested in AI, let alone if they stole it. That’s why I never like the vids.
@Mrbill10665 күн бұрын
@@RightsForZombies Believe she is from Kazakstan or one of the CIS countries. Her English not up to snuff. The videos are annoying because many lies and mistakes.
