This Spelunky 2 game really just does not like me. Roguelikes just don't like me I guess. But at least I got farther than Dunkey and Alpharad in their Spelunky videos. Who knows if I'll speedrun this game at some point.

Well, I wouldn't exactly call it misinformation. After all, it's a quick guide on how to leave quickly. I would say that careful planning is important for pure beginners or people getting used to a world, but for people who just want to get to later levels faster with more experience, it isn't necessarily a misinformed video. Thank you for the critique though!

instead of running, try to get a much gold as possible for a backpack item.... and then blow it up in volcana and never played the game again

One thing that I seriously recommend in learning in spelunky 2 is understanding your basic arsenal. Bomb cooking is flashy and cool but I only recommend when you can reach Tiamat consistently. The whip is your best friend. Learning the defensive properties of the whip being is the back whip and arrow whip will help you blaze through the first few levels and it makes you more versatile in stickier situations. Increasing your pace in the earlier levels is incredibly important as in the dwelling you’ll often find yourself multitasking way more often compared to other levels and since you lack mobility items at the start the ghost will be a lot more troublesome to deal with. I recommend learning the backwhip immediately after reaching the dwelling and arrow whipping around the same time as bomb cooking.

I steal from shopkeepers by just walking out with whatever item I want, then running away and getting to higher elevation, avoid the shopkeeper, circle back to get the rest of the items, and run to the exit while avoiding killing the shopkeeper (for forgiveness)

As someone who has played this game a lot, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. I'd recommend checking out Israel Blargh and Xanagear's guides if you want to learn and get better. This dude honestly said the complete opposite of how you should deal with the most of these things.

Yeah this is pretty much a perfect guide on what to mostly not to do Some things are correct but in general this is a horrible guide and won't help you Use ropes or bombs to get the pets and the eye with the key as they will be crucial in 3nd game Also cook turkeys with bombs or torch for food Also try to make risks or fight enemies the whole point of this game is triel and error so take risks and you will learn after all it is only the first place so you don't lose much when you die so play safe later in the game where you don't know where to go or do

Nah, 2 has pretty much everything from 1, and also a lot more extra content. Unless you wanna see lore stuff and exclusive secrets from 1, then you don't really need to play it before you play 2.
