Wanted to give a shout out to your channel and to you Tyler. Long story-but my daughter was asked to try to play GK her junior year of HS. Played basketball prior and never soccer. HS soccer coach was one of her teachers and needed a GK. She’s 5’11”. We found your channel, started watching, using you as our “coach”. We trained together almost exclusively using your channel for the first few months. We eventually found a GK coach and club soccer. Anyway, she got a D1 offer yesterday. Keep up the good work!

Great video Tyler! As you mentioned this is a tough situation for keepers and it is really important to understand angles/positioning in the game. Keepers need to know that when the ball is on the end line, the attacking player has a possible 5 options he could execute; (1. shot, 2. near post cutback, 3. far post chip, 4. cutback to penalty spot, 5. dribble). As a keeper you want to be in a position that eliminates the most options. By moving up to the near post, you eliminate the shot, near post cut back, and dribble. You potentially force the attacking player to play the ball back post which is the greatest distance and would require the ball to be chipped in the air which gives time to recover. If the ball is played back towards the top of the penalty box again the ball is outside of the six yard area and gives you more time to react to the shot. If you have good defenders and they are reliable they would cover the back post in these situations. Thanks for the video and look forward to seeing more!! Keep on, keeping on!

Thank you Thank you as always. Youve improved my sons technique to no end. As a self taught goalkeeper in my younger days I made so many errors that you highlighted not to do (I would have not even bothered cutting out first ball but hit the goalline ready to save) but now with my 9 year old gk son, we been learning from the best, Goluremi and read your vids like a bible. Love it.

This video helps I am much better at cutting the cutbacks out and when you said sometimes only a finger will work. I 100% agree with that I got a finger tip to it and it completely but the ball of track. I have started playing way better after watching your vids. Thank you

Really good video and makes a lot of sense. I feel like I do what you say here in that I am not doing a 45 degree angle, but instead facing the potential striker and trying to cut off the cross over. The only problem is I cannot see anyone on the backside which leaves me open to whatever. If that attacker is not covered, then it can lead to one touch strikes and I am still trying to react. Granted, not alll the time my feet are planted firmly which I will work on after watching this video, but it is still frustrating to have someone on the backdoor uncovered and it is just you trying to take into account 2 attackers. Great video. Just wanted to see if you had any advice here beyond the video. Appreciate all of your tips!

I would say that the 45 degree position for cutbacks works when the body shape of the striker suggests that their cutback won't be claimable if yk what i mean. For example, if a striker is facing you, then he's probably looking for a player who's in the 6y box but if they are facing you at an angle, they might be looking for someone further out

For my understanding : do u anticipate something ? We see in the video that you slightly anticipe a center. Is it not a bit risky as the attacker may kick in the goal ?
@GKGOLUREMI2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you generally don't want to be leaning early because then they could possibly play it to the near post. I'm leaning a bit in some of these shots but that's really just because I know where the ball is going beforehand. If we played everything live these videos would take forever to film.
