Idk if it’s a mother/father difference. But as a new father this is the first video on how to swaddle that actually made sense. She showed where to grab the blanket to make the corners you need. Almost every other video seemed like the person was trying to beat the world record for fastest swaddle. Thank you!

This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "getting babies to sleep through the night" for a while now, and I think this has helped. They make it look so easy at the hospital, great demo it's hard to learn in the few days you watch the nurses do it. It looks like they put this baby on tranquilizers to shoot this demo though. Mine always pulls his swaddle off before I can even finish haha

so I’m lucky enough to have my first child, and as I enter the second trimester I still cause off guard by my mood swings usually I cry for what feels like no reason at all. But these lil videos remind me of infomercials and it’s working to calm me down. I do have love and support but in the middle of the night I don’t wanna bother anyone. Thanks for helping

Hallo 2020 swaddle may increase the baby's body temperature to a dangerous level. can help babies sleep more peacefully and therefore more "heavily". However, this reduces the reflexes that their brain needs to deal with the case of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, but the most common risk that experts talk about is hip dysplasia. The soft ligaments in the newborn's hip may not be strengthened when the cloth is tightly wrapped around his legs, thus restricting his movements.

This is completely false information. Hip dysplasia can happen with swaddling but is usually due to the swaddle being too tight and/or incorrect. To safely swaddle a baby, the baby should have their hips bent up (flexion) and out (abduction) to allow room for hip movement. The swaddle should never be tight around the legs or causing the legs to straighten out completely. There are several factors that contribute to SIDS, mostly it is due to children suffocating in their sleeping. Things such as placing fabric over the babies face, placing the baby to sleep on their belly, and having objects in the crib that the baby can suffocate (such as plush toys or comforters) can cause suffocation in the infant. Babies do not have the reflex to lift their heads up when they are newborns, so it is the parent's responsibility to make sure there is no danger to the infant in their crib. When swaddling a baby, there are a lot of things to consider such as maintaining the correct temperature of the room, the clothing the baby is wearing, correct swaddling, and the type of fabric being used to swaddle the baby. A properly swaddled infant should not suffocate. If you are concerned you should always contact your infant's provider on ways to minimize the occurrence of SIDS.

A nurse who works with hundreds of babies every year has come across all kinds. Even I, as an in hospital photographer, it is super rare when I can't swaddle a crying baby, and it's usually because they are huge.
