Great vid. There are a lot on this subject online, but this is the best I've seen so far. Very professional approach. My only suggestion is to use a rubber band to temporarily hold the other wire back against the body of the battery, out of the way, which greatly reduces the chance of shorting the wires against your razor knife or any other metal surface.

Thankyou for your video. What brand of silicone wire do you recommend. 12ga for xt60.

This is an older Trakpower solder station.

Thank you Rich! I've learned just about every way to accidentally short a pack over the years so hopefully the tips help somebody avoid the same mistakes.

I just cut the wires off the Dean plug, one at a time. No need to de-solder as you will likely never use the Dean plug again. Strip, tin, and solder to the XT60 plug. :)

Uhh...for other out there reading this... Snipping is fine, but be sure you snip the wires ONE at a TIME! Otherwise the snips will short the two wires together, and you'll see some fireworks and might get a visit by your friendly local firemen to your home.

GOOD, SAFE TECHNIQUE ALL AROUND - BUT - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE; WORK ON YOUR FOCUS!!! You're not doing your skills any justice if people can't clearly see what you're doing.
