Funny enough I have this easier than freestyle, I breathe well doing this and I don’t get shoulder impingement when doing this as compared to freestyle
@RocketSwimming2 күн бұрын
That's really great because breaststroke is challenging than freestyle.

Your advice on the timing especially the nose - string pull was really helpful! I have not heard of the "pocket of air as you pull" analogy but it really made sense and helped me to achieve my first freestyle breathing. Thank you!

So glad i found this now. im brand new to swimming this year but i swam a 32.06 50m free so i got put on the team. worked on breaststorke today in practice and i was NOT getting it. my timing was all off and i wasn't really going anywhere. I decided i'd figure out how to do it by watching some videos. i watched a few before this but they seemed more complex, not really getting to the details. Couldn't be happier about this video i found.Thanks so much!

What are the benefits of using one?
@RocketSwimming2 күн бұрын
A kickboard primarily helps swimmers by isolating and strengthening their leg muscles, improving kicking technique, enhancing ankle flexibility, and promoting better body position in the water, making it a valuable tool for developing overall swimming efficiency, particularly for beginners or those focusing on lower body power.

is it important to stretch legs towards hips then kick
@RocketSwimming2 күн бұрын
Yes because that's how you'll generate a powerful kick.

How do you breathe for backfloat?
@RocketSwimming11 күн бұрын
Breathing on the backfloat is the easiest. Just breathe normally but don't breathe out completely. Stay calm, keep some air in your lungs. Being calm and relaxed is important.

How do you not exhale all the air? That happens to me all the time
@RocketSwimming11 күн бұрын
Practice. This is what the video is about. Most people panic and exhale all the air and to prevent that do bobs and shower technique.

Unable to follow yr video esp breathing technique, I need coach to demonstrate to me face to face. I swim backstroke as per normal , don't need to do the breathing technique n it works but totally no straight lines.

Finally found the 'pocket' when breathing after 1 year of freestyle swimming with timing my breath with my pull! Made my times go from 2:00/100m to 1:45/100m, much more momentum en glide.
@RocketSwimming19 күн бұрын
That's awesome! Now practice a lot and try to reproduce the "pocket" as much as possible.
