Danny was the first NZ bowler I ever saw measured at 150 clicks, and the first reverse swing bowler I ever saw. He certainly could rip them through.

The key to swing bowling is imparting back spin on the ball. Bumrah struggled in this test because there wasn’t enough backspin.

Having played against Danny in NZ and then in UK in 1989/90, I can say he was sharp - very sharp. I was a pace bowler myself and usually batted at 7. But my club in the UK thought that as their overseas player, it would be fun to have me open the batting against Danny...it was not fun...
