How to swing this axe? Making a carved axe handle from Burmese blackwood

Once again making a carved ax handle, this time my dad used Burmese blackwood to make the handle. He carved the entire axe handle with a file and a rasp. We put a lot of time and effort into making an ax handle and the intricate carvings. We make it for collecting as a work of art on the ax handle. This axe is a great wall hanger for us.

Hey Poom, is there a reason you’re not using power tools like a band saw to make those labor intensive cuts? I mean Burmese Blackwood is a hardwood that is very compact and makes it a great wood for what you are using it for but I can only imagine those cuts take some effort. Ever thought of getting a bandsaw? Or maybe even a powered jigsaw?
