Hi Rachel, thank you for this helpful video. Two questions - 1) As a bookkeeper, can I connect my client's gusto to their QBO file, or does the client have to do it themselves? (I do have accountant access to their gusto account now). 2) For the mapping, should the COA accounts be created first, before mapping? Or can you create the COA accounts as you go through the mapping?

Yes, you can connect it. The COA must be created first, I don't think you can create new accounts from within Gusto.

Hi Gentle Frog, Thank you for this video. Very helpful. In the employer taxes section, there is only one option to map. However, we have both Social Security employer taxes as well as employer Medicare. Where can I map the employer Medicare?

You can't. JEs don't show up in the vendor profile, even if you put their name there. If you want to have vendors assigned, I can show you how in a 15-minute call, www.gentlefrog.com/meeting/, but it WILL result in a fair amount of manual entry.

Can you map different employees to different GL codes? I grouped my books by service wages (COGS), sales wages, admin wages and management wages. Also classify workers by the branch they're in (Coportate, Region1, Region2). Can Gusto get this granular?

It's possible to set up departments with payroll software, Gusto included. You can contact their support desk, gusto.com/about/contact, and ask how to do this, I know it's somewhere in advanced mapping but I don't know the details.

Since this video has come out, Gusto has redesigned their web page. There is no longer an app directory. Just FYI.
