Hey saw how you tackle here is a tip when you tackle keep your head looking forward so that can’t push you off because your backs locked in
@TheRugbyTrainerTV5 ай бұрын
@nixon823 ye that's it. Rather than thinking about keeping your head up. Think about looking at the target of where you want to hit. Example, look at the thigh your about to tackle

@TheRugbyTrainerTV It tought me to squeeze the player and get the head into the right place and also the feet placements too.

@TheRugbyTrainerTV don't try too hard. They're decent already. Have separate lighthearted videos, like the dancing one! 😆

@TheRugbyTrainerTV played as a kid u11-16's, fell out of the game unfortunately. My lad has been playing from 5 years old, under 11's this coming season. He has just got his tackle confidence together now. Thanks to your expert advice! Mostly fear of head collision. Now getting low, eyes looking forward and landing safely 🙂

I love my tackle pads I think they have helped in how I put my power and weight into the tackle
@TheRugbyTrainerTV5 ай бұрын
Amazing thanks for sharing. Is there anything specific you do to help with power ?

@TheRugbyTrainerTV stay on my toes and not Flat footed as I play rugby league and have to always be up and ready and back 10 metres ready to either Run back and Tackle or Run back and run at the opposing team

I prefer to practice tackle without tackling shields. In my experience it's more safe and realistic. Tackling pads and shields have injured me more than normal tackling.
@TheRugbyTrainerTV5 ай бұрын
ye sweet, definitely your own preference. How did you get injured out of curiosity ? did you also see where I was coming from with how I think it can help learning how to tackle?
@santiagonajera76585 ай бұрын
@@TheRugbyTrainerTV Yes, I refer more to tackling shields. While holding the shield, you can hurt your wrists and fingers. Also old and damaged shields can cut through your skin and it's annoying.
