I went back to my photography roots for this video. After trying to research online ways to better understand double exposures and not finding any clear answers, I decided to study and explain it myself, and to share how you can apply what you learn and be aware of the mistakes along the way. Instead of just seeing an example idea and copying the premise-- here you understand why these examples work and hopefully, have a better grasp of the science behind the art. (Which in turn, helps to make even better art!)

I don't have a definitive answer on this. It depends on storage and at this point-- time to see, for these newer instant films. Obviously, keeping photos stored away from water, high humidity, high temperatures, UV and strong light, is a best practice to maintain their quality. Instant film chemicals do take time to dry out even after development-- and Polaroid Originals Film suggests that for the first 30 days to let the photo "completely dry out in a cool, well-ventilated environment" before long-term storage in archival sleeves, boxes, etc. I don't think this method would hurt either for Instax brand film. Hopefully, this helps a bit.

Remember from the video to associate light and dark areas with the amount of exposure to the film. Light = more exposed. Dark = less exposed. For double exposures to work better, you need dark areas in the first photo (or areas of low exposure) where then the second image can show through (be exposed properly by the camera). White paper will be a high exposure, the sky would only show through in areas where there isn't white paper (the light area).
