How to take body measurement

Knowing how to take a body measurement is very important whether you’re a tailor or not. You might order for a clothe outside your state or country and might need to send your measurement. In this video, i give a detailed explanation on how to take a shirt and a trouser measurement.

At 1.36 when you take the shoulder measurement how do you put that on to paper ?

When putting the shoulder measurement on paper or fabric, you divide the shoulder measurement into two. So if your shoulder is 18inchs, you divide it into two and place 9 inches. I’ll demonstrate that by uploading a separate video on drafting a shirt or top

Good morning sir. Mr question is: If the skin measurement for chest is 38 inches and l add 4 inches ease for fitted senator wear, do I need to add sewing allowance in addition to ease allowance. If yes, what inch is the sewing allowance. Thanks you.

Yes. You need to add sewing allowance but that'll be when you're cutting the cloth. The sewing allowance can be 1 inch or 1.5 inches on all the sides. The allowance shouldn't go beyond 1.5 inches so that it wouldn't affect the shape of the cloth.
