Pete, I'm glad you uploaded this video. I definitely overdid things when I sprayed my yard, and the fescue surrounding the over applied areas is suffering. Live and learn I guess. Thanks for the detail on the rates for the small sprayer

Looking forward to the adjuvant video. It's been the one product I don't know it's purpose. I've thought of it as a product to make herbicides stick to the plant, but it must be much more if it helps heat stess in summer. Can't wait.

Very informative video Pete. To be honest, I absolutely didn't even think about pH for my herbicide applications. Would you consider doing a video with some explanation as to why that's necessary? I'm also looking forward to your video with your natural adjuvant.

The P.H. is dropped because of the natural adjuvant he added. It has nothing to do with the actual herbicide. The adjuvant activates at a ph of 5

Great video Pete. Been watching you since 500 subscribers. Really awesome to see the growth of your channel. Quick question. How do surfactants come into play with this setup?

Love your channel bud, good information. I live in West Texas and my yard has alot of calichi, I just built my house and my ground is so hard that I had to make the hole for my mailbox with a damn rock bar lol. So from watching your videos I will have to grow some Bermuda grass cause I have no trees. I would need dynamite to make a hole to plant a tree 😂. So my question is do you recommend to bring in some good dirt to lay my Sod down and what kind of dirt do you recommend. And do you think I should do a irrigation underground watering system instead of a sprinkler head system since my ground has alot of rock and calichi. Thank you .

Hey Pete I got a lot of clover in my yard now in the fall. Is it a bad idea to treat it during this season? Should I just wait for spring?
@mtufts1000
@mtufts1000 7 жыл бұрын
If you get a bunch of clover I get spray but if you just got one little patch. It would be so much easier just to get down there and pull it out by hand. I get great satisfaction from pulling out those pesky weeds and throwing them on the driveway to shrivel up and drying out.

mark tufts not sure what Pete will say. But I have had a nasty batch of clover that started as one bunch. Pulled it out by hand for two years. I think it must have an extensive root system because it came back stronger every year. Last year I finally got rid of it. Took numerous applications of selective herbicide and surfactant. I bet Pete’s adjuvant would have killed it in one dose. If that helps. Cheers.

@GCI Turf Services : Hi, I live in central Florida with Zoysia grass, partially dominated by clover and other weeds(this spring is killing me). Recently I have been trying to fix it up and yes, my grass is reviving and growing greener, but not quite dense. Your awesome concoction of weed killer is meant for cool grass..., any tips for warm grass weed killer? thank you in advance :-) Love your channel, thank you for sharing your knowledge, Keep Up The Good Work!!

Pete, you always have the most helpful videos. I’ve got a quick question for you, I’m removing zoysia from a lawn and decided to use a sod cutter after I sprayed glystar twice? What are my chances that when I reseed that any of that zoysia comes back? Any tips?
@GCITurf
@GCITurf 7 жыл бұрын
did you allow the zoysia to die 100%? Is it super brown and crunchy? What time of the year did you spray the zoysia?
@donmacon3320
@donmacon3320 7 жыл бұрын
I sprayed about 3 weeks ago while dormant. And again once it had just started to green up. The lawn zoysia in my lawn isn’t a year old yet and the yard was to shady in my opinion for it so I’m going back to fescue. I could pull some of the full pieces up by hand and other pieces had started to take root. I just used the sod cutter down to 2 1/2” hoping to get it all I should have worded better but I sprayed it first when we had those 70-80 degree days here in NC and it started green up. Sprayed again three weeks later even though we have had some hard freezes the last week.

You arent gonna alike what i say. You should have waited until end of july to spray the first spray then spray the 2nd time mid august. that sif you want a 100% kill. ( also seed fescue in the fall ) spring is the WORSE time to seed fescue. Its hard for me to answer this question. It really depends on how "alive" the zoysia was when you sprayed it. The plant has to be actively growing in order for round up to work 100%
@donmacon3320
@donmacon3320 7 жыл бұрын
GCI Turf Services Ok I think I understand that. At this point I’m gonna clean up the rest of the sod, perhaps wait a week to see if anything green pops up. Then cover with 1-2” of topsoil and reseed otherwise I would have a mud pit at the first rainstorm LOL Thank you for the honest advice it makes sense I just didn’t want the zoysia to spread or take root anymore than it already did.
@GCITurf
@GCITurf 7 жыл бұрын
You may get away with it. Remove whats there...fertilize the bare dirt to see if you can stimulate more zoysia growth. then kill it if it comes back up

Sadly I have 1.6 acres that needs a blanket spray...thankfully I have all my math and sprayer is calibrated thanks to the help from your sprayer videos you put out earlier this year. Tried what all of yall used for prememergent (prodiamine + rgs/sea kelp) and will try this soon too. How is this setup with blanket applications? Thinking Ill be doing this in a week as its been bellow average temps and cold

I have a 21g tow behind boon sprayer for my garden tractor that runs off the tractor battery. Easy as pie to calibrate with your method and first time out I ran out of liquid really close to the end of the run. Im wondering if the chemicals are good for blanket apps as this year is a rehab year for me.

Nice video, Pete, for killing your clover. Obviously there are a myriad of types of weeds. Is this solution shown to kill all other weeds too? Just some of them? Just clover? I understand that with the right solution that it does not take much to kill the weed being targeted. I am wondering how many and what weeds the solution demonstrated will it kill? Thanks, Pete.

All you need is Spectracide concentrate and an empty spray bottle. Mix your own, walk your yard, and spot-treat away. Been doing that for years, works like a charm.
