@@chenliao585 Thanks for your comment. I'll keep an eye on the hub for vibration as the bike gets older. Nice video you made showing how to do maintenance on the hub in detail.

@@chenliao585 are there any ways to just seal it up so water never goes in?

No ordinary people can do this servicing....leave it to professional like Liaoge to take charge ......thanks for sharing ......Btw Liaoge speaks excellent Mandarin .....Is a pleasure to hear his conversation even though I am not able to comprehend all what he said ....
I was missing that spring at 6:50, is it responsible for gear 3? Because I took mine apart for maintainance because gear 1 was not working, and after assembling it (I noticed that this spring is missing), for some reason gear 1 works but gear 3 (highest gear) does not.

OMG!! Don't put thick grease on the pawls....they'll just go and stick again.
@LuficariusRatspeed2 жыл бұрын
Indeed. That seems counterintuitive. If memory serves, a thin liquid lubricant is used for all internal parts except the bearing which seals the internals from water.

light oil only on the pawls , these new hubs are not good give me one from 1980 please

Actually, I take back my previous comment as I suspect it is a semi-fluid grease they are using. However, don't take the hub apart in the crazy way they have. Remove the circlip and sprockets. Then remove the LH locknut and cone. Then loosen the ballring on the RH side. You don't need the SA spanner. You can use a long punch/flat blade screw driver and locate in a ballring notch and strike the punch, downwards. Rotate it 180 degrees and do the same with the other notch. ( if this doesn't work look online for further tips....I've never needed a spanner) Once the ballring is loose unscrew the whole inner and secure the LH end in a vice to dismantle it.
