In this video I show you how to take a fan made by lasko apart to clean. I can't remember where I got this fan, it was either from Costco, Target or Walmart. Or some place like that. Anyway after I got this fan and used for a few months the whole thing got caked with dust. When I went to take it apart to clean for the first time I could not for the life of me find the screws to take the plastic face part off. I acually ended up cracking part of the plastic cover trying to get the face off. Then before I eneded up breaking my fan even more I spent some time online searching how to take it apart, I eventually figured it out how to do it. Then I felt stupid becuase of how easy it was. All of this is what inspired me to make this video. I hope someone finds it useful. Thanks for watching, stay cool.
Any support is highly appreciated and helps me create more content

Just so you know, the fan blades actually comes apart from the motor, you just have to kinda wiggle it off. That way you can thoroughly clean the blades. Thanks for this video, I got my fan spotless!

Thank you ! LASKO provides ZERO instructions on how to take this fan apart to clean or repair it. Your video makes it super easy. ❤️🙏✨

I've had this model in white for 5 years or so, and I've always wanted to clean it - having pets certainly does add to the dust level! You made this Super easy! Thanks very much !

A thousand blessings upon you!! 😄 I was about to throw mine out, I couldn’t even get past taking the grill off. And I would never have realized I was supposed to stick the screwdriver through the hole to find those tiny little screws and forget realigning the motor and the last thing I would have realized was that the power cord goes under the motor. I absolutely forgot about that even while watching your tutorial so I never would’ve done it on my own. Thank you so much.

Thank you very much, this is a very useful video! I had this fan for years and been wanting to clean it with water. I even went to the website and they said the way to clean it is by vaccuum. The vacuum can only do so much and I am not satisfied. I have an allergy that gets worse when I use the fan that I have to vacuum every now and then. I appreciate you sharing this. The manufacturer should make it easier for customers to clean the fan! God bless

They clearly designed it so people would never want to deal with cleaning it and decided to F it and get a new one 😂. Mine is a Westinghouse and the manual doesn't tell you how to open it. I'm still trying to figure it out many years later. I'm able to vacuum the front/back frames but can't get to those blades easily. Sometimes, if I'm in a patient mood, I will wiggle a Swiffer 360 Duster through the slats and try to get the blades that way, while vacuum going so anything knocked loose gets sucked up. Thank you for your video. I'll have to further search for hidden screws.

This fan is fantastic and had it forever Don't want to throw it out just because it's dirty . Using it in the kitchen means it's greasy so oven cleaner is the move but it has to get some water to get thoroughly clean. So this video is perfect. Thanks.

That fan blade is just pressed on you can remove it by placing the back of your hands against the back shield and pressing forward on the round part of the fan blade with your fingers with some force and it will pop off. It only goes back on one way just place and push also the shaft that the blade sits on can have hair wrapped around it causing a restriction to how fast it turns just pull hair out and clean the dust and bam will run just like it’s brand new thanks for the video bro great job

The motor gets hair, dust, grime inside and will need to be cleaned too so your fan doesn't overheat and blow the capacitor. Replacing the capacitor is where I stop messing around with the fan and get a new fan. The fan lasted 7 summers so I can't complain.

I think literally one hair of my girlfriends had made my entire fan sluggish, but the fan buildup doesnt help either.

save yourself tons of time and frustration. Just pull the fan blade apart from the motor/shaft and you will have access to the hole fan. Simple as that!

Just pull. Its a notched type shaft with a small flat side. Dont worry it wont break. You can break down the entire motor and re-oil it with gun oil on the inner shafts. Easy!
