How did you learn? Are you self taught? Combination of that and classes? Did you go to school? There's a professionalism about you that I haven't seen in other sewing channels. You're videos inspire me to sew better. Love your vibe! I'm glad KZbin recommended your channel to me :)

Okay I’ve just started my own project and I am a SUPER beginner. When you’re sewing the center back seam are you going down the pants, pivoting, sewing maybe a centimeter across, pivoting again and sewing back up to get the double stitch look? Maybe it’s not just a look and that is in fact what a double stitch is? Lol Also, any tips on the folding and then gradually getting back to the original seam? Yours is flawless and mine seems...not. Any tips are appreciated! Thanks so much
@LydiaNaomi4 жыл бұрын
Hi Danielle, what you see me doing is not pivoting and sewing across, but actually i skip over and start sewing up the other side back stitching always at the start and finish. Then I cut the thread in between. You could sew across if you want, but then it wouldn't be a proper continuation of the original stitches. As for the gradual folding it may help to iron the original fold of the fabric flat then make your own gradual fold! I hope that helps!

which machine of the ones in the description would you recommend for beginners?
@LydiaNaomi4 жыл бұрын
I would probably say either of the following are simple enough not to scare you, but have what you need in a good starting machine that is heavy enough for denim and will last. I lean to more toward the Janome because I have a cover stitch in that brand and have been told they are one of the best brands for domestic machines. But then again I have worked on a Brother before and really liked it. The Singer I am not partial to but I include it because it has such great reviews. These are all non computerized, however if you are ok with computerized any of the other two are great! I love that the Brother XR9550PRW, Project Runway - amzn.to/2GpDuwi has 8 automatic button holes and a free arm for sewing things like sleeve hems. Its really up to you and how serious you want to get! Im sorry that I haven't really narrowed it down a lot. I just think they are all great!! Janome HD1000 - amzn.to/30RtHbL or Brother ST371HD - amzn.to/37rgTuR or Singer Heavy Duty 4411 - amzn.to/3aJK924
