I just tried this on my nieces jeans that were too big at the waist. She hasn’t tried it on yet but the jeans in this video make the butt look strange. Maybe it’s just those jeans. Fingers crossed!

I think if you reverse the seam to the outside, the transition would not be as noticeable

The horizontal slightly down-angled double seams don't line up... I'd probably scrap the jeans.
