Still surreal watching someone who lives so far, come over and be close to things, places, and views we take for granted. Just as I’m fascinated each time I come to CA, IL, MI, or whatever it is I’m at

Wonderful to hear you talking about the South Coast and areas i visited on family holidays growing up. Kinda forget how lucky we are to have all the history wrapped up in castles and churches etc across the UK.

Loved this from you, I’ve watched your videos for a while now, as a fellow photographer and seeing the places which you usually shoot… and then you end up in Brighton which is where I live! Loved the comment about the pier being like Santa Monica but grey, rainy and depressing, absolutely spot on!

Driving on the left in the UK is rooted in historical and practical reasons. The practice dates back to medieval times, when most people were right-handed. Traveling on the left allowed right-handed knights to keep their sword arm closer to passing strangers, a defensive move. This also let them more easily greet or defend themselves. This tradition persisted, and in 1835, it became law in Britain with the Highway Act. As British influence spread, many of its colonies adopted the same rule. Although most of the world drives on the right today, the UK and several former colonies continue the left-side tradition.

Loved this video. Wise and comforting words about taking tourist photos. Seaford is a wonderful town. Thinking about moving there in the next year or so. Did you try Lanes cafe by the church? Brilliant place - stunning sausage rolls! And by the way - we drive on the correct side of the road, everyone else has it wrong!

Dave, I have bought yet another great preset from you. I keep seeing people try to replicate a leica look preset. I don't see any difference when they explain it but somehow I think I would understand it better if you did a preset of it.
@davidherring2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the support! You really need Leica lenses for that look. As I understand it, the M lenses have center contrast that softens towards the edges. This creates a more defined subject. No preset is going to be able to do this.
@phil_aesthetics2 ай бұрын
@@davidherring ahhh when you put it that way it makes sense, can I just do a radial gradian and bump the contrast
@davidherring2 ай бұрын
I’ve tried. I typically have done a center radial with increased clarity and contrast, then a second inverted radial with clarity down and contrast down. If I do this on my Sony GM lenses shot wide open, you somewhat get that Leica look.
@phil_aesthetics2 ай бұрын
@@davidherringokay I will try that, I have the R with a couple of L lenses

How do you define a tourist photo ?
@davidherring2 ай бұрын
Photos that demonstrate you went somewhere. Doesn't have to be some epic landscape or incredible, once in a lifetime moment. Just photos of your travel.
@tonyhayes98272 ай бұрын
Whats a tourist photo? You go to a castle and you photograph it. Whether you're a tourist or a local it's all the same isn't it? Great work BTW The photos on your website are all bangers for mine, man. Love the photo of your mate at 5.52
@davidherring2 ай бұрын
A tourist photo is a photo capturing your journey without trying to capture bangers. Just normal photos, like our parents took.
