My preference for shooting underexposed is to go for a faster shutter speed rather than closing down the aperture. the amount of background blur is an aesthetic consideration as well as an exposure one.

You can take a shot-through umbrella with the strobe pointing at the sun and bounced as a reflector. The shot-through will shade the subject. You power the strobe to mimic the sun intensity, shadow and direction. Imagine it as a fill that has a relative size that is a huge sun. It works!

I did newborn photography in a extremely dark room so I had all my settings set for that, then they wanted to do some family photos in white shirts outside and I forgot to change my settings and it was extremely sunny outside. Needless to say the only thing you could see in the photos were their eyes and the grass. It was scary. And I didn't realize until I was editing, CHECK THE PHOTOS!.

@zazek843 жыл бұрын
Duh, this is why all pros wants to have ISO50 on their cameras. Also, daylight can be so hard that even F16 won't help, which is the upper limit to the Sigma 35 Art. So many times you MUST have an ND filter.
