My biggest issue is when I go over 10 days I start to struggle , hip and knee pain, swollen hands I can't walk atm. Got swollen knees, stabbing hip pain. Started 50 for 10 days then tapering, I'm almost week 3 dose 20 mg. I feel I can't take it anymore. Can I just stop it to because of the adverse side effects . I feel My life is hell. Is EPHASOL tablet 5 mg the same with PREDNISONE ?
@PrednisonePharmacist2 ай бұрын
Googling it and it looks like EPHASOL is prednisOLone. It is a few molecules different than prednisone. But most of the side effects and experience are the same. Rotator cuff injury, taking 40mg daily for 7 days. I got a huge improvement within 3 days. I know it has wide ranging effects to the body including spiking blood glucose. My question is how long does it take for the body to get back to status quo?

Thanks so much. Are there any downsides other than potential sleep disruption of taking the second half in the afternoon? I Wondered if it would make it more prevalent in my body for longer potentially and thus more effective

Prednisone is a miracle drug that is given for that kind of condition. However, it is important to know that this drug causes horrible side effects and the way it's doing that is by stealing vital nutrients from our body. The good news is you can manage those side effects by replenishing those nutrients. You can check out this article about "10 Nutrients You Need While on Prednisone" which might help your mom's condition. I have ITP and RA. I take 4 mg of prednisone daily. However my Hematologist and eye Dr think it’s not good to be on it for so long. Well I tried to come off it and the joint pain and stiffness is overwhelming I can barely function at all. So I started taking it again. And I can feel my immune system backing off on attacking my body and joints.. I’m starting to feel like me again and functioning. I miss being able to work out 💪🏽. Which as soon as I put my body in remission I will be back in the gym. I have a low dose and I take it once a day. I’ve been on it for years now. What is the problem..? Why do they say that?? Because my body says I can’t go with out my dose..
@PrednisonePharmacist Жыл бұрын
I have ITP too! It’s so hard when it comes to pred because it’s a miracle med but also comes with some pretty serious and permanent side effects. I don’t think they want to increase your risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, or blindness. The balance of the risks and benefits is the tough spot in the middle that you have to work through with your doctors.
